Maverick to OPER
-
Hi guy’s,
Looking for some advice on where to look to solve the following problem I am having.
Last week during FO COOPs I was on my Maverick run and could not get the IR image to come to live after the uncage. While setting up the Mav I noticed that on the WPN page, OSB1 was already on OPER and not STBY.
What ever I did, recycle power, switch targeting modes, pressing OPER a few times, switching SOI, reaquiering the target, lock, verify lock, switch SOI, uncaging did not have the desired effect. Bummer.Stickfile problems? Nope. T6 uncage function is fine.
BTN T6 /I /H X21
/O /P SimToggleMissileCage_P
/R SimToggleMissileCage_RBack to the manual. Nope all good. Looked at some YT video’s to see if I missed a step in the sequence or an update to the weapon/system. Nothing there either.
Ran through various theaters and Maverick versions to check the procedure. Still nothing and on all attempts that STBY OSB 1 was always in OPER mode. Nothing I did changed the encountered settings nor the result.
Online, offline, TE, campaign, even the default trainingsmission did not pop the TV/IR screen.Ok. So a bit deeper, configurations, keyfiles, bms config, nick.ini, bms.config even WDP and MC settings. Nothing really clicked. And I have been flying this setup for quite some time. Cougar with a (Ripley) profile I have been using for years. Last update was months ago. BMS settings … not changed for quite a while and certainly not last week during FO.
I hope somebody has had the same experience and did figure out where to look or what to change, or has a few pointers to test.
I miss my Mavericks.

Masterarm set to ARM?

@ Redneck. Yes.
thelawenforcer contacted me on FO and we discussed a few possibilities.
This thread for one. [[url]https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?14020-Maverick-troubles&highlight=maverick+issue - last post page 1]
No solution yet. -
/O /P SimToggleMissileCage_P
/R SimToggleMissileCage_RAs as i read this ( need to check my file to be sure )
if you press you toggle the uncage
If you release you toggle the uncage.Which makes you end up with
A re- caged missile? 2x toggle is back where you started. -
Hi Snowman,
I should have added the macro code with this. The functions only say half of the story.
SimToggleMissileCage_P = KD(u)
SimToggleMissileCage_R = KU(u)As I understand the press/release function within Foxy splits up the function the button is programmed to do. For one to add extra function but also to be sure the command is send.
But to test all possibilities I changed the code to a standard U function.SimUncageWeapon = u
and changed the functions
BTN T6 /I /H X21
/O SimUncageWeapon
Rem /O /P SimToggleMissileCage_P
Rem /R SimToggleMissileCage_RBut no change. WPN page gives me an OPER and uncaging does not pop the cap on the Maverick.
Thank for the input Snowman. -
Sorry to hear that.
Good luck!

did you already succeded in displayin ghte IR page with your curren tGfx Card ?
DO you have a problem with your TGP display ? -
Try a new pilot and see if that helps, then you will know if it is a setting in your callsign ini file.
No solution for you but seeing this cougar code makes me glad I made the move to dx.

DO you have a problem with your TGP display ?Yes all Maverick pages and operational functionality have been used. Current system has an i5 3570 Ivy Bridge with MSI ATi Radeon R7970 3GB DDR5.
TGP is operational.
Thanks for the input. -

Tried that. No change. But will run these tests again. Same with possible WDP/DTC/profile settings. Not familiar yet with the deeper workings of all this.
Thanks for the input. -
Found the bugger.
In testing and configuring VAC and KeySpeech I needed to look up some stuff in my HOTAS .tmj and keyfile settings. While doing this I thought to check out the uncage function and compare my custom keystokes keyfile with the default keystrokes.key. And there it was.
SimToggleMissileCage -1 0 0XFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “Wpn-Sidewinder-Cage/Uncage”
It should read:
SimToggleMissileCage -1 0 0X16 0 0 0 1 “Wpn-Sidewinder-Cage/Uncage”
I remember editing some css files a few weeks back in Notepad++, and guess what files where opened besides each other ……?
Mavs working again.
Thank you all for the hints, tips and PM’s I got on trying to solve this.Anybody up for some serious Maverick hunting tonight on FO COOPS? I’m in.
