Disabling HUD from All views BMS 4.32
-
Hi Guys
I have recently added a new mini monitor to my F16 pit to reflect the HUD onto my HUD glass using the BMS cockpit extractor. I’ve had some help from my friends on Viper Pits adapting the 3993 file to remove the on screen HUD from the 3D cockpit but I’d like it removed from all views if possible so that just my HUD glass will be functional and I won’t see a double HUD. Is there a way to do this ?
Many thanks for any advice on this.
All the best

Ahh, just discovered Arty’s hot list. The 3d empty shell cockpit toggle solves my issue. Love flying with a working HUD.

Any pictures to show us how it looks like ?

Hi Dee-Jay. I’ll see if I can upload a couple of shots tonight when I get home.

The empty cockpit shell still displays the HUD on the mainscreen by default. Considering your thread title: disabeling HUD on all views you mean something different?
And do you get the HUD aligned?
Very interested in pics!

Ok, sorry for delay - too many beers this weekend. To answer Snowman’s question, I was given a thread on Viper Pits site that provided a revised 3993.dds file that removed the HUD from the screen for the 3d Pit views. Then when 3d Empty Shell Cockpit toggle is engaged, hey presto - no gauges or HUD just the shell of the pit is visible when you look down. So you can see from the pictures - my hand between the hud glass and monitor showing the reflected HUD and also a shot from above the hud showing a clear in game monitor with no hud and my HUD image showing on the mini-monitor. I hope this makes sense. Oh and on the alignment question - I haven’t tried to see if the gun cross is exactly right but the HUD reflects at the dead centre of the glass and I have completed a number of successful landings with no issues. It may be by luck or more likely by the skill of Raider who designed my cockpit.
