I think this thread is very unethical. Shouldnt we let Windows 8 die in peace before we talk about a new OS?

Not if I murder it before hand and fire it off into space never to be seen again!

Recently I needed to pick up a new copy of Windows 7 and I was reliably (and apologetically) informed by a store employee that yes, they had lots of Windows 7 in stock but she couldn’t sell me any because Microsoft had issued a recall for all their Windows 7 products and told the store to replace them all with Windows 8 boxes.
So…what you are describing, Microsoft has (probably) already been doing in an attempt to bolster sales of an inferior product.

Thats hardly a new thing, though. Anyway, should be able to get windows 7 discs online… dunno how one would go about getting CD keys for them.

I’m buying W7 PRO licences for my company on eBay. They are sold for around 35 EUR each. These are unused OEM licences from DELL, HP etc. but i doesn’t make a difference.

W7-64 is the new XP-32
Edit - what happened to 9? Is it so bad its being replaced before its released?

What i heard they skipped this version no. to imply a huge difference to W8 to the customer …

To all who don’t have a Win7 CD&Key:
Get one ASAP and get it secured as good as your Original F4 CD in your Bunker!

The story I read is due to the naming of Windows 95/98.

Same. Apparently calling it Windows 9 would break all the applications that look for a Windows 9X version in their software code, which is around 4000 applications.

I tried it and I hate Windows 8, Windows 10 or whatever you call it. Start menu and control panel are a joke
