Approach numbers
-
not sure if this has been discussed before(looked around and didn’t find anything)…
sometimes when i call inbound the tower replies “cowboy 1, approach 7, continue inbound, expect vectors to runway 14.”
was wondering what approach 7 would mean…the number differs each time…
my only thought is its your bearing to the airbase or something or a specific approach procedure to follow but i would think there may be a chart?
just wondering if it meant anything…

That doesn’t sound right. Are you sure it’s not “Cowboy 1 1, Kunsan approach, 7, continue inbound, expect vectors runway 14”?
Cuz the 7 in there is #7 to land (six ahead of you) I think.

maybe thats how they say it but not sure about 7 though. good idea ill have to request landing number right after i hear it.

Yeah, what Frederf says. Could it be there’s no recorded audio for the name of the airport you’re landing on? Is it one of the common ones or some strange AP or on an add-on theater maybe?
-
I think seosan airport also has a wrong name recorded
-
it’s not the wrong name, it’s the ‘other’ name for the same airport: Haemi
very often real life airport have 2 names, the one known to the larger crowd of travellers, and the one of the actual city where it is
Incheon - Seoul
Zaventem - Brussels
Heathrow - London
Charleroi - Brussels South
Orly - Paris
