Flight Deck F-16 Simulator Take Off Landing and Dog Fight
-
Simple question…What software are they using for the simulator?
-
It looks very close to F4 BMS with the help of MFD extractor for the cockpit
-
at 6:34 it looks like the BMS splash screen
-
Most definitely BMS.

-
I think that a good idea is make copies video and www, because they can “suddenly” disappear.
-
Cool people… our old “sponsors”… (TCL). People participating became a discount.
-
I’ve been there a couple of times. Very cool.
Been several years ago, they were using AF back then
Looks like they upgraded to something better -
Big Mother …… Sim.
-
So will they be getting a cease and desist order for making money off of it?
One of the videos shows it on some tv show called “Millionaire Matchmaker” lol
-
these places and the money they charge…holy… this one isn’t alone either. and i’m sure they can get around the legalities somehow.
but if they are charging that much, i’d better see a 1:1 pit with all the switches and controls and a working hud! -

I wonder what the legalities in question, are, anyway. If they have enough copies of Falcon 4 to get an EXE for each of their simulators, aren’t they covered by law? At any rate, who currently owns the Falcon license and thus has the right to sue? I tried to follow the license through all the companies that were sold spun off and re-brought together, but I am still not sure I understand it correctly.

They’ve publicly stated that they don’t do that specifically because they want the barrier of entry to be low enough to capture people who are interested but maybe aren’t looking for a 1:1 pit match.

So basically people who liked Top Gun but wouldnt be able to spot any of the (many) irregularities it contained, in other words.
Makes sense, if you are in it to make money. Id love to have a commercial center set up like that, but the (biggest of many) problem would be getting enough interested people willing to pay enough money to cover costs.

That’s correct. I’ve been told (I haven’t been yet myself, but I plan to the next time travel back to California which should be late December for the holidays) that they do have some advanced functionality that can be turned on.

If you research the company they also have some civilian simulators that they use for check rides and training that they rent out, and they do Corporate Team Building events. I am guessing that those two lines of business probably do more to fund the facility then anything else. I worked for a party planning center in California for a while, and it was similar with their line of work. You could have an 8 person party for an hour or a 80+ person party all night, and the 80+ party all night was where all the money came from for the business.
EDIT:
Also, I forgot to mention - they are located in Southern California, where the population density is huge. Not to mention, the California freeway system makes it easy to have visitors from San Diego or Ventura or other places around the area. So they already have a large population base to draw from. (Obviously, I have thought about this a lot!) -
And on the plus side: those simulators can attract some new people for BMS where they can leave the ‘Top Gun’ approach behind them
-
it would still be nice, after spending all the money for canopies and such to have ONE real pit.
fools and their money, i suppose.the 737 seems legit though
-
Slightly lower population here, Dont think Im gonna give up my current career plans for it.
-
I can’t remember if this was the sim center I helped setup or not.
edit:
nope it was Fly the Dream

how are those touch screen pits? ok? working huds it looks like too? wonder the total cost of those pits and if they’ve come close to recouping it yet.
