Weather Change Time
-
One feature I quite like is the dynamic weather. One thing I’m confused about though is whether or not the maximum change interval actually works. I have the minimum set to 600 seconds, and the max set to the default 23000 seconds. It feels, however, like the weather never actually stays the same for a long period of time. Does the maximum change time work?
Anyway, I really like the dynamic weather, and thanks for any responses.

600sec=10min……how do you expect that the weather will stay the same if you set the minimum time like that?
If you want to a higher probability that the weather will remain the same for a longer time, increase the 600 to a higher value. -
That’s just the minimum, meaning that it should, in theory, be able to vary from 600 seconds to 23000 seconds. I can tell you for certain that here in Oregon, it will rain for less than ten minutes, or sometimes for hours.

Did you try the advice you were given? I have my minimum set to 1800 and am happy with weather change intervals. It would be wrong to rebuff the help you are asking for without even trying something as simple as what tbuc advised you to do. Also, it can make a difference what your percentages are set at for the various weather types.
P.S. I’m just assuming you didn’t follow his advise because you didn’t report back whether or not that helped with your problem. How 'bout showing a screenshot of your weather page.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I certainly didn’t want to offend anybody, or imply that I haven’t tried that. It just seems reasonable to me for a minimum change time to be around 10 minutes. I have tried longer, but I don’t like weather that will stay the same for a half hour at a minimum. My percentages are as follows: Clear - 50, Fair - 25, Poor - 15, Inclement - 10. Also, what I’m really curious about, and why I asked, is whether or not the maximum change interval actually has an effect. It seems to me like the weather consistently changes at the minimum time.
Thanks for any help.

No offense taken.
I take into consideration the theater and the season when applying settings to weather, but try setting your Change interval to 1800 min. and 3600 max. and see how that works for you. I use this setting when I want frequent weather changes. Also try to even out your percentages. Just because a weather change is initiated, doesn’t mean that you won’t get the same weather at the change (hope I explained that one well enough). With settings at 50% clear and 25% Fair, you must hardly ever see rain and I’m guessing that your wanting a little more weather to fly in or maybe more clouds.
In a Korean theater during spring I would go for something like:
Change int. Min. - 1800
Max - 3600
Sunny - 10%
Fair - 35%
Poor -35%
Inclement - 20%Of course you can always tweak the numbers to your preferences. HTH
