Can keyfiles be edited directly?
-
Hi,
I’ve opened the keyfile in Wordpad (I should probably use TextEdit or emacs…)
I think I get the format, but I see big (hexadecimal?) numbers to map the key / button to the action (I’m assuming…) Just wondering if anyone’s had luck doing this?
Thx!

heh… not only have people had luck doing this, there is a consensus among some pilots that you should ONLY edit them directly : P
you might wanna have a look at Kolbe’s manual in your install folder, at {your install}/User/Joystick/Generic/Kolbe
I think if you ask for a show of hands how many people have edited their keyfile, you might get a lot of pages of responses…

I think if you edit in game you will lose all remarks, grouping and so on after saving.
If you edit outside game you will keep all remarks, style and so on.
Best is to edit outside game! -
