Data Cartridge from a own directory?

In a normal case all the DTC informations are stored in the .ini File of the Pilot as far as I know. By hitting the DTC load button during ramp start this informations are red in.
But would it be possible to say BMS that this ini file is on a different Directory or even drive? I actuall installed a good old 3,5" disc drive into my pit on the DTC Slot… so would be great to do my planing on the Computer, store this informations at the disc and later in the pit I could load those informations… with the good old disc noise
Any ideas if or how this is possible?

If you get this to work…I am taking notes, because I am sketching up plans for my own pit(s) now.

The disc drives itself work really good. Did not want to take a tape drive, but also an USB plug would be too modern… but with a 3,5" disc drive ( 1,4MB of space should be enought for the ini file ) it should work and Sound good. But have to get the Thing with the save Location of the file done The idea itself is good.
Also because the Cockpit itself is not the best place to plan the Mission and write the informations to the DTC… this work is done quite better from a second Computer with a normal desk.

What you can do, is to insert your disc, then, once in the pit, have a program synchronize the DTC in your pit’s PC install folder with the one in the disc.
I assume that on your second laptop, you use WDP ? Dont you need the mission file to get it to work properly ?

Yep. I would make a little program that copied the file in the Campaign/save folder of bms.
I would tie this to a switch in the pit, thats activating the copy process.Quick search got me this:

( did not check it out though )But to be honest i would never do it this way. For normal flying its too complicated imo. We exchange ini files online before briefing. Having to put these on disk and after that putting them on another computer from this disk is a bit of an unpractical route.

Has just been an idea… i thought, if you hit DTE load in the MFD… the code also loads a file locatet at a Directory… maybe it can be changed to a other path… would be enough it it dies not take it from /user/Cupra.ini… it takes it form A:/Cupra.ini …
Also depends how you are doing flights. If you use 1 Computer for planing and flying it is a other Thing then you use different ones. I always do al teh planing and other stuff on a other Computer then I fly… the Cockpit PC does not have any othter Software then BMS and ist Tools… no Office, no IE, WDP or anything else
Maybe there Comes a soloution. Making a extra Switch in the pit is not really useful.
