in the korean training program what is the procedure to lock on a target and launch the JSOW;it doesn`t seem to work properly and to what purpose is that little cross in the GM mode for ???
thanks in advance for the info. -
I use the same procedure as firing a Maverick.

Same here…and enjoy the fireworks

Correct, in 4.32, JSOWs are Maverick with more punch.
-
understood and thanks again;but if it works like the mavericks how do i find the IIR on the mdf so that i can lock on with the tracking gates or lock on with the radar in slave mode;something i miss here somehow!!!
and thanks -
I don’t recognize the abbreviation IIR, sorry. If you mean the image. You just un-cage like the maverick.
-
Imaging infrared. AIM-9M is an IR missile and AIM-9X is an IIR missile for example.

and thanksSet your MFD to the WPN page like you do with the Maverick. It tracks with the seeker head, not the TGP. And make sure the power is on. Can’t remember if you have to un-cage, but I believe you do. Haven’t used in a while…sort of a Holy weapon.

thanks for your help guys;i was able to sort it out.schnirdrman was right;once i got the jsow powered i went to the OSB WPN then uncage(U) or declutter also made sure the image was SOI in boresight mode. The trouble now is to find these tanks on the kotar range, not easy.

that is not easy to get them on the IIR.

Sometimes (i.e. when in a column, or fixed location) it is easier to lock with radar and then change SOI to the seeker. Radar scans a much larger area than the seeker head.
Edit: This is a good tactic with Mavs also.8-)

Yep- through the “mav style” seeker head the target will then typically be visible (appear) at 20-23NM at middle to high alts.

Only the CBU warhead JSOW is holy. The normal unitary warhead JSOW is a very reasonable weapon that is quite balanced for gameplay. The only problem is by default the wrong one (overpowered) is in stock in campaign.

Wasn’t aware of this…in which campaigns are the JSOWS more subdued?
