Throttle question
-
All of those steps have been done prior to the issue I am having.
-
Back to your first post; is this problem noticed on the ground, at altitude or both?
-
i’d first check in CCP and Hotas COugar apps to see if it’s working properly
programming might cause this problem if throttlerange commands are used
calibration might be a source
hardware might be a sourceSo go emulation OFF (making sure no file is loaded in your stick)
then run Hotas cougar from the control panel, check throttle range of motion
if all checks good, then only strat checking in the sim.
if something is wrong, your problem is thereif all was good, check the UI, look at the throttle axis and where the red line and green lines are located for AB and idle point

I recently purchased a brand new cougar throttle - it was sold separately and has never been used. I’d like to try it with my current cougar joystick. Is it okay to just swap this new throttle in - connecting it to the joystick? Not sure if there is any programming or synchronization between these two old/new components.

cougar stick with cougar throttle - okay to just plug it in, the pins do the same thing.

Nothing to be programmed inside Cougar TQS. Everything is inside the stick PCB so you can change it direct Maybe a new calibratition is desirable

Thanks for the info

Tried my new throttle. All the buttons and rotaries work fine. The throttle axis doesn’t seem to register. There is no throttle movement on the BMS throttle axis indicator on either the main BMS controller screen or the advanced screen. Also not seeing the axis move in the Cougar Config. Program under the manual calibration.
Any ideas for things to try would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had something like what you are describing happen when I bought my cougar. The problem I had was caused by the throttle potentiometer being broken. I tried pulling it apart and making a fix myself, and nearly got somewhere with it, but I didnt have tooling fine enough to mess with something that small, and to make a solution that would work without falling apart constantly.
I gave up on it, and called up TM tech support. Paid them for a replacement pot and shipping to Australia… still was not very expensive. The painful thing was how long I had to wait! Waited a fortnight for my Shiny new cougar, and then another fortnight straight away, waiting for a replacement throttle pot!!!

Thanks. I will look into that.
