CTD on every touchdown

Ok, that is definitely weird.
You have a repeatable problem, so that’s bad. However, nobody else has it, so it is most likely a problem in the interaction between your rig/setting/personal karma and BMS. Plus, it will be most likely hard to debug, since we cannot reproduce it.
I cannot garantee you that we will find a solution. But you definitely got my attention, even thought its a bit outside my competences….
Just to be sure, can you try to start from scratch ?
- Uninstall (keeping your logbook and key files, obviously)
- erase leftover files if there is any,
- erase your setup folder,
- re-download everything
- and reinstall ?
I know its a pain, but it would be good to rule out a corrupted file in your installer.

Try deleting any files in X:\Falcon BMS 4.32\User\Acmi folder.
And delete the file dx9display.dsp in the X:\Falcon BMS 4.32\User\Config
Just a shot in the dark.

I have tried everything but no success… I give up. I am alone with my new $4000 rig and can’t fly Falcon. Terrific. LOL I hate life.
Cheers!

I will dig the French forum … someone had the same issue.
Will come back … hopefully with a possible solution for you.

Hi, is this happening when YOU are landing? because the crash is in AI code… so it can’t be you… are u sure that it happens when YOU are landing? because otherwise how can you reproduce it in IA/TE?

Yes. It crashes when my jet’s wheels exactly touch on runway and when I take off without permission from tower.
and I have figured out last night that after every first CTD windows can’t uninstall BMS. I get an error prompt says “an error occurred while trying to uninstall it may have already been uninstalled” when I try to uninstall BMS via windows control panel. Weird.
deep note: After every fresh install I manage to land 3-4 times without CTD.
-
Are you landing the F-16 or some other jet? if some other please say which?
Because where you crash this is digi code which means AI is landing and it’s very weird:
d:\sandbox\bmscode_public\sim*digi*\landme.cppI don’t know what to tell you but for sure you have something weird going on at your end… maybe some weird setting or change that you did, because 4.32 is running for a couple of years now so you can’t be the only one that is crashing at landing if it was some code issue?
Can you try to d/l all the installer content from scratch and reinstall please? what is the size of your base installation? is it normal?
This crash can’t be related to your system.

It does not matter which aircraft I fly. I tried to land with F-5 too. Same problem. I will check my base installation again, although I used it on my old system without any problem.

Never use windows control panel to uninstall BMS but always the BMS Seup program.

Yup. I use that.

I found it and edited, but you are too fast for me !

So … strange … give give a try with this … in sequence and give a try to each steps:
(of course, backup files!)
1 - Delete the touchdn.ogg (or simply rename it “-touchdn.ogg”)
Try …
2 - Try to uncheck
Cockpit Shadow
Focus ShadowClouds Reflexion
Focus Object ReflectionsTry …
3 - Try 1 + 2.
I do not see why it would works!?! … but it doesn’t cot to give a try.
Please keep us updated.

Now I am testing another fresh install without updates. After 5 sorties there was no CTD. I will continue to testing without updates. After that I am gonna install updates one by one and test all of them. It will take my time but I think I should follow this way. If I fail, I will try your steps too.
-
Hi guys,
After a week testing, I can say my problem is solved. I just installed bms updates separately. Looks like for a reason my new rig did not like my old integrated installer. I’ve used it many times. Weird.
Thanks everyone.
