After a reboot the radio traffic can sometimes be heard - along with the text which I have had to enable, but more often than not there is no audio for radio traffic. I can still see the text display though so it’s not that the radio is on the wrong frequency - I just can’t hear anything. All other sounds appear OK (though I guess I could me missing some without knowing).

Click the intercom knob, left increase, right mouse decrease. BMS initializes this knob to a weird state which the knob is high but the volume is low which is obvious when you click once and the volume jumps a lot. MSL and THRT knobs are similar. Just because it looks one way doesn’t mean it is. Check the COM1 COM2 knobs as well.
I use the oxygen system and pilot breathing as a baseline sound effect. I turn it on and adjust intercom knob until it’s noticable but not loud. From there I base all other volumes off this.

Im afraid it’s not that. All the volumes appear to be set and I have adjusted up and down. Still no joy.

Can you get audible pilot breathing sounds?
-
Good question. I have had the audible breathing in the past but so have I heard the radio in the past. I have just tested and cannot hear any breathing either.

Think I have kinda figured it. It seems to be a hardware problem as I only have a problem when using headphones, very odd as the headphones are working in stereo.
-
Sorted. It seems that my 5.1 surround works fine with speakers, however when using headphones, some audio is output to channels not sent to the headphones e.g breathing and the radio. I have set my sound to stereo so it’s now fine through the headphones, but no 5.1 surround when using the speakers. That kinda sucks. Is this a falcon issue in how it handles sound. I have never noticed this issue on other games???

I’ve found in the past, with other games, that to make windows mix-down all the channels into stereo I have to set the control panel to 5.1 and then untick the extra channels, so you could try that.
