Modding the original Korean campaign
-
1. Can Tacedit be used to modify the campaigns in the original Korean Theater of Operations?
2. Which folder contains the campaign data for the original Korean Theater of operations? Is it Korea, Korea2, 3 or 4?
I’ve been trying to add a patriot air defense battalion at mukho power plant in the rolling fire campaign of the original Korean Theater of Operations. I tried all 4 folders and save0.cam in each one of them but to no avail.

Anyone?

Pretty simple question really:
1. Yes.
2. It depends on which Korea theater you’re trying to edit.
Then, the campaigns are listed as save0, save1, save2 so it depends on which campaign you are trying to edit (rolling fire, etc.).
What you’re trying to do is easy, but you have to be specific about what theater, and what campaign exactly you are trying to edit…I warn you, though, that once you figure out how to do it, it can be very addictive.

1. Yes.
2. \data\campaign\save
Before you start editing with Tacedit you have to specify the directories in Tacedit. File –-> properties
Database in \data\terrdata\objects
Campaign is in the folder what I mentioned.I do not recommend to add Patriot in any campaign. It is simply overpowered because of weak AI and the red side is also weak…

I’m trying to edit the rolling fire campaign in the default/original theater.

Tacedit (v2.47) issue. I specify the theater and object paths in the properties box, and open the .cam or .tac file; but I am not able to have the UNITS editor list the campaign units. No problem displaying the objectives list or showing them on map view, but unit icons and menu items are greyed out. I made sure I had file permissions and the files are not read-only. My issue appears universal over all the original and add-on campaigns and missions. I did not have this problem in the past. Any advice?

Then the path that you have specified in your Theater Directory properties box is incorrect.
The easiest way to get it correct is to navigate to the Campaign folder to the exact folder, ie, if it’s stock Korea, there are five folders, so you go to the one you want, once there go up to the Windows address window, click on it once so it’s selected, copy and then paste that into TacEdit Properties>Theater Directory.
Once you’ve done that, close TacEdit down to set that path, then re-open TE, select your Save0 or whatever you want to look at.

Run tacedit as administrator. I had the same issue when I first tried to use it.
