Editor crashing after LOD change

Hi,
I have found an object “Terminal”, CT #1428 (IIRC yet), which is not in use. I took this a placed my LOD for Chongju Terminal, all fine.
Then I wanted to add a new feature, a Boing-747. I had again a look into the DB and I found a non used entry “Target 10”. This object (Boing-747) is a download from the internet. I opened it in Sketchup, made a 3DS file, converted it with LOD Editor into LOD (I can see clearly the object in the 3D-viewer), replaced the LOD’s and wanted to place it into my Chongju objective.
But as soon as I select it the Editor crashes.This is from inside Sketchup:
The object uses no textures. Painting is made with polygones…
Maybe someone want to help.

Hmmm complex model. Lol u dive to way deep with sharks waters.
It could be uv mapping / geometry - polygons mostly open.
Or properties that old 3ds format makes the editor crash.
Does it open in Lod editor?
If yes u can use check model from fop right when u edit the model.
See the results use the options given to auto fix it.edit: don’t have high hopes with the auto fix.

Yes, in LOD Editor it looks very pretty. That is the reason I’m so astonished that the Editor crashes when selecting it.
Interesting is, that the writing is made with polygons.
Is not that bad, if this model isn’t working. I have also an Airbus + textures. I only have to make one DDS.
I’ve also installed a download from internet, a Jabiru 160c, a small sport a/c, but this shall be enough for that at the moment.
If I would be able to copy that small russian AN-xx, that would be nice, because I could made civilian textures and this bird can fly…Ok, thanks, sir.

Textured ptypes but no texture in root node ?

very good point but still it should not crash (?) it should display as black(?) cause no texture.
Or it sees it needs an airbus.xxx texture instead a nuberednamed.dds file and crashes?In way past that I had such issue IIRC the 3d model I created was way fubared and when I corrected it worked fine.
but this is specific to model.
To tell u the truth the most common is that it crashes in Lod Editor and not in Falcon Editor.

I’m not sure F4 3D engine handles wrong ptype and no texture like Lod Editor…
Earlybite, got a log of that Editor crash?
