SweetFX and SoftTH Equals Jaggies!
-
hello all,
I have successfully set up BMS to run with sweetfx and SoftTH on a triple head monitor display. All works great and excellent frame rates, though only downside is exterior jaggies. In the pit, gauges, buttons, etc… look ok, however, when on the ground/ramp buildings and other objects are heavily jagged. I also use Nividia inspector and have tried multiple AA settings, though none seem to have any effect. Only FXAA does, though this effect is too blurry. In-game MS is disabled as it causes BMS black screen with Sweetfx and softTH; however, was wondering if others have a similar setup, is there a solution to tamp down the exterior jaggies?
Note, I have searched around the forum, though did not see anything specific to handling external jaggies with this config. Perhaps it is out there, and if so a link would be cool too.

Try changing Negative LOD Bias setting.

I ended up turning off all Nvidia Inspector AA variants and use only SMAA (via SweetFX), and FXAA (Nvidia) together. Looks quite nice with no jaggies anywhere in the pit or outside, and FPS is through the roof in all scenarios! Only downside is blurry text in mission UI, but I can live with it.
Implemented this same setup in CLOD as well and works quite well there too.

use Antialiasing Transparency in NVidia control panel or multisampling ingame for better looks of jaggies…

Only issue there is that SoftTH will not work with ingame MS (causes only black screen/no picture). AATS never seemed to work when I tried it with SoftTH and three monitors.

OK but I must ask why do you use Softh?? Would it not be easier to use NVidia surround??
