Engine, Flaps, LEFs Readout
-
I was just looking at Buraktunan and TomCatz beautiful work here and was thinking that I personally would like to have the Engine, Flaps, and LEFs Readout on the bottom of the screen like the information you see in the Orbit Camera view – as an option anyway. I think it would help the immersion factor a little bit not to have it so prominent in the top left. Thoughts?
Oh and does anyone have a definition or a link that explains LEFs. I don’t know what that is.

FWIW in case you were not aware. The TEF are more commonly referred to as Flaperons rather than Flaps because those control surfaces act as both ailerons and flaps when the gear handle is up. The TEF function occurs ONLY when the gear handle is down (or ALT FLAPS switch is in EXTEND) so that both flaperons deflect to 20 degrees down. And if you were not aware, the LEFs function automatically and symmetrically based upon altitude/mach/AOA. You can watch this as the airplane takes off
at the 1:14 mark or at high AOA at the 4:16 mark. As part of a Functional Check Flight (FCF) the profile called for slowing below 250 KIAS in straight and level flight, select the ALT FLAPS to EXTEND, then accelerate to 400 KIAS or so while checking that both LEFs “program” normally and the TEFs retract. Try it, record it, play it back. -
Vandal, I’m not at home but but if memory serves Shift+ 3 gives you a bottom left of screen display that among other things gives you spreed brake percentage open, and on my display at least there is a default engine display in the upper left.
Control +4 should be the flap display, but it doesn’t appear, and by happy coincidence yesterday I found out why. I was working on my HOTAS and I noticed the flap display callback is not in 4.33 full keyfile. I have at times found callbacks in earlier versions’ keyfiles and “transplanted” it to the current one. Callbacks do change from time to time, so it may not work, but that is the only method I’ve found to do it
