Breaking lock on one SARH missile results in second SARH missle to be ignored by RWR
-
I have seen comments on other threads that RWR in BMS works better than IRL, so I am not sure if this could be considered a bug or not. Surely someone “in the know” will be along shortly to enlighten us on your question. :-?

Please provide ACMI. Are you sure you were within RWR working limits?

I had the exact same issue last Saturday during PvP. Red air was mig29A & SU27 with AA10A. Had a spike head on FL270. Going defensive, breaking lock. No more 29 on RWR and no more launch warning or sound. Turning back in hot after a few second. Kaboom.
Could it be MP related? I never had this before when training with AI. However in MP I had it last week and I remember at least one similar event with another guy fem our sqn in the past. -

Thanks for investigating, I’ll share the ACMI file tonight.
I was within 40nm of the hard locking bandits; they both launched their Fox1s at me at this distance. When I closed with them, I was probably 30nm away before I was impacted by the Fox1 without a threat light for the tracking missile. I believe I was within RWR working limits.

In the TE, the MiG-31s were AI controlled on REDFOR; there were 6-8 human players on BLUEFOR.

At very long range engagements the RWR sometimes is buggy. I have no idea why, but is a general experience from me, I have expericened during my test.

ACMI available at https://www.dropbox.com/s/63p0tbkkaqhz6wm/24_20.acmi?dl=0. My engagement with the MiG-31s starts at 0:24:20.

For clarification, you lost your RWR spike from the MiG-31 that was still hardlocking you (at ~+00:25:00), correct? Looks like you turned back in thinking you’d duped them so I’m presuming that’s correct. In which case I need to continue to remember to distrust my RWR… at least it’s better than what the Ruskies have.

Yes ma’am, that’s correct. Not only did I lose the RWR spike but the threat light also went out. I broke the lock on one of the bandits but the other still had me spiked and was guiding his Fox1 in without any further warning to me.
