Multiplayer Server hosting

I’m sorry for the nooby question, and i know there might are already some threads about it but still, i watched a video tutorial from krause, and made more or less the same things as he has done, but i just tried it out now, a friend couldn’t connect to my server, do i need also to deactivate my firewall?
there is just one question, does it mather which router i have to forward the ports? cause i’m next to a router which is connected with our main internet router. so actually just a connector to the main router
and could someone please tell me which steps he forgot or i have to check or i have to do?
P.S. sorry if my english is bad

sorry, i wrote it wrong, just one router, and one who makes the signal stronger, wireless, can someone help?

you will not need to deactivate your firewall, but you will likely need to forward the ports that falcon uses.

Hope that helps.

So you are PC –> Router --> Router–> Internet ? If that is the case, yes, it will matter. You have to find a configuration where both routers will pass the Falcon and IVC data without interference.
In order to know if your ports are open and passing data properly, this is the best port test tool I have found: http://www.majorgeeks.com/mg/getmirror/simple_port_tester,1.html
Edit:
Ok, forget the first part. Simple Port Tester is still the way to know if you are set up properly.

my firewall is now ok but the router doesn’t want to save the settings somehow, any more suggestions?

thank you guys it worked (at least the checker said it)

One more thing: I would not recommend hosting over a wireless connection as this introduces some high latency that may be detrimental during close formation flying.
All the best, Uwe
