DIY Cougar Mods
-
I’ve just dug out my old Cougar which I got many years ago and have not used much due to spiking pots. I’ve just contacted TM to see if I can get some new pots for it. Fingers crossed!
My cougar has quite a lot of play in the center dead zone, especially on the X-axis. I opened up the base plate of the stick and saw that there was a lot of space in the gimbals which is causing this movement. I know the Uber mod fixes this issue but wondered if anyone has any DIY solutions to this, maybe using spacers etc to overcome the huge gaps?
Also, one of my pots has gone. I will need to replace this (email sent to TM). Are there any off the shelf hall sensors that could be used in place of these pots?

Had myself problems with worn out gimbals and fiddle around to get less play again. Believe me, beside of completely replace them with origin spare gimbals from TM is the only cheap solution to get rid of centre play.
But if you want “the real deal” and get rid of centre play an spiking pots forever, you should get the FCC3 from Vipercore!

One of the best (if not THE best) investment in my flight gear.

With Cubby now gone is there any other throttle mods that will work to replace old pots?
