Korean TEs Cause BMS to Stop for Non-Host in MP
-
That’s so weird I have never met before.
Another situation I encountered when recording ACMI , if host exit bms to windows , the recorder will CTD. -
Are you implying that the host is exiting BMS before the clients back out completely? If so, that will cause the clients to crash. The host must keep the session alive until all clients have exited the multiplayer session.

The default TXX training TEs have been problematic for MP for me but if AVTR is used at all, give it time. If I record the entire flight it can take 15min at the “standby to leave airplane” screen. I’ve also possibly had problems if host leaves first.

Quite possibly. We will test. Thanks, Residual (and Frederf)

We waited several minutes, and no joy. I was waiting on the ramp, the non-host aircraft’s canopy closed and it then taxied forward a bit, after the non-host left. After a few minutes, the aircraft turned a 180 and went down the taxiway. After about 5 mins, I exited the game as the host. For the non-host, the screen was locked on the ‘leaving the aircraft’. During the wait, the non-host looked connected, until he killed his BMS session. At that point, he left the chat room and I saw his disconnect in the IVC server panel. We didn’t use the ACMI/AVTR function. Is a 5-minute wait long enough after not using AVTR?
BTW, this doesn’t happen in a TE in the Balkans theater, only the stock, base Korean theater. Exiting the mission is quick and painless.

We’ve run some more tests. Basic Korean Theater continues to cause BMS non-host lockups when exiting Korean stock and modified TEs. The exiting aircraft screen comes up and it stays there until you have to kill the game. We are not using ACMI.
We tested the Balkans and Israeli theaters, and we exit without crashing BMS in a matter of seconds. No issues.
Any ideas? Any others having this issue? Would anybody on the dev team want to work and sign into my host box and witness the lockup as a non-host?
Thanks

Daw go and create your own TE. Just make it simple. Like
Host should be the first in 3d and the last to leave 3d.

Stock or modified? This means the pre-packaged TEs or modifications of the pre-packaged TEs? Yeah, don’t fly those in MP. I have had bad experience.
It’s not Korea’s fault as a theater I think. If you have problems with a completely new TE in Korea (not made by anyone else or an edit thereof) that’s worth worrying about.

Will do, Shadow.

We have the non-host lockups with stock TEs that come with the base Korea theater, and also with those we modify from base. If we fly a 3-ship formation, the two non-hosts will lock up, and the host will be the only one to exit the game gracefully, not having to restart BMS.
I have not tried to create one from scratch. I will test the SA-10 TE Shadow referenced and create one of my own to determine where the problems originates. Thanks, Frederf.

Having the host enter first and exit last did_not work.
Testing continues.

Shadow…we used your SA-10 mission, and we exited flawlessly. No issues. We are going to create one of ours from scratch, and do another test.
So the question is, what is it in the stock TEs that causes the freeze?
