UI Music: How to change?
-
Good evening fellow simmers,
I would like to know how one can change the soundtrack in the main menu. Don’t get me wrong,
the original theme is nice and fits the fighter theme overall. But I wondered if I can just add some
more pieces to it.My first attempt was to convert the music I wanted in the game into .ogg files and copy it into the Data/Music file.
This didn’t work as the official pieces still were played. I then tried to remove the original pieces and rename the ones
I want in the game into “ui1” and so on in order to convice the game that this is the file that has to be played.
Again no joy. This time there was no music at all. As a result I put the original files back into the file. Therefore I would like to know if you guys know more about music alteration. Looking forward to your hints and tricks.
Regards

Here you go. The music files can be in many formats. Just follow this to get started.

Didn’t work out. Standard Music aka “ui1.ogg” has a bitrate of 77k/bits and 22050 MHz in stereo . I don’t possess any program that can convert .ogg to such stats.

Do you have EAC…? It’s freeware.

Used to have it. But I remember it more like a CD burning tool. Nothing that enables me to access sound files from my HDD in order to alter them accordingly.
EDIT: fun fact, custom music plays when I exit 3D. But when I start BMS itself nothing plays

If that were the case, I wouldn’t have suggested it.
Anyway - best of luck with your project.

Haha, you guys
I managed to implement music with Audacity. Turned down to 22050 Mhz and Quality setting 4 creates a bitrate 77 k/bits file. Now all the pieces I want are played.
