Falcon BMS on a Mac with Parallels 12
-
Can anyone tell me if Falcon BMS 4.33 can be run on a MacBook Pro OS X Sierra running Parallels 12 ?
If not, will it run on a 2014 HP Probook 450 laptop running Windows 10 ? -
I run it on a couple of Mac Minis, but I boot directly into Win 7. Having a discrete graphics chip seems to make it perform better.

On a laptop have seriously in mind the temperature factor. More if it’s an old one.
Could u post hw details so not have us search for the specs of the systems u mentioned?sent from my mi5 using Tapatalk

No harm in trying it in Parallels, although I tried it in 2012 and the graphics had to be dialed way down so I didn’t like it. Parallels is not as successful at games requiring computation hungry graphics because of the way it works.
Most successful is using Bootcamp, which separates a part of your drive, formats it for Windows, then you stick in a Windows disc/flash drive in your machine and install Windows on your Mac, then Bootcamp installs software to make your Mac’s unique hardware features work with Windows. That means you will be operating a Windows machine when you startup from the Bootcamp volume or a Mac when you startup using Macintosh HD.
For Sierra it will have to be Windows 10 and you will have to purchase Windows 10. Much faster. I run BMS in Windows 10 on my iMac and having a lot of fun with it.

When I started BMS I tried Parallels and was very bad regarding 3D. But that’s about 4 or 5 years ago. I then tried VMFusion which worked quit ok, but then I went for Bootcamp instead to run native and that was significantly better. I did brake some hardware because Bootcamp had (don’t know if it’s still like that) issues getting temp readout and didn’t start the fans so I kinda fried my GPU on my iMac 27"… :s
From that moment I decided investing in a dedicated BMS pc would be a safer idea -
@Focaldesign, man, tough story, that hurts. Microsoft fixed that and other BMS related issues in the next Windows 10 update (assuming you had Win 10).

Oh no Win 10 didn’t exist back then IIRC, was Win7 still

I have Windows 10 running on my MacBook with parallels. I downloaded and installed the original Falcon 4 from gog.com and it runs in Parallels although the some of the keyboard commands don’t work from the Mac keyboard. Not sure how I can fix that. Where do I get the Falcon BMS 4.33 download from?

I have an HP Probook 450 laptop as well as my MacBook. The HP laptop is fairly new (2014) I would like to get it running on both machines if possible.
