Where do I download BMS 4.33?
-
Hello!
Iāve just registered and was looking where to download this simulator. As I couldnāt find it can anyone indicate me place to do it?
Thank you -
Hi and Welcome,
BMS 4.33 is distributed by torrent.
The torrent file is right under the following on this page : https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?29413-Falcon-BMS-4-33-U3-Incremental-Installer&p=410675#post410675
A) The primary distribution method is by TORRENT, as always:
-Save the link and open in a torrent application. Or you could just open it with a torrent app.

Welcome
Just in case you missed this, you will need an installation of the original Falcon 4.0 (NOT Falcon Allied Forces). No worries, though, as that was re-released and could be bought cheaply and easily online.

Iāve asked the mods here if theyād find it useful but have not gotten a response from them. I donāt see the point in making one here if itās not going to be stickiedā¦

No, Iād very much prefer it if youād link to the thread instead. Thanks!

Once you post it all guys will ask to make it sticky⦠so be sure it will be.
The reason Iām asking is cause of language⦠The text will be in Greek so your post in HQ will be just half the infoā¦

Hello!
I am tech support for my husband, who is the ārealā Quasar1. Iām bringing up a new PC for him - I7, 16GB, Nvidia GTX750Ti. It has a 128GB SSD drive and 1TB HDD drive. The question - I have about 60GB left on the SSD after the windows basics are installed. Should I install the Falcon 4.0 and BMS 4.33 on the SSD or must I put it on the HDD? Any other advice would be most appreciated. He is currently using a new HOTAS Cougar (his 4th rig) on his old Win XP until I get the new one configured. Thanks!

If it were me, which I do follow this procedure on my rig, Iād put Falcon4 and BMS on the HDD. Since your SSD is over half full, Iād leave it for core programs, Windows, Browsers, etc.
The SSD does have the room for the Falcon/BMS installs, but depending on amount of add on Theaters it may become quite large.
One of my BMS installs with 3 add on Theaters is 26 GBās, a second install of BMS with 5 Theaters is 45 GBās. Plus the Falcon 4.0 install which I did a minimal install is an additional 1 GB.
So I have BMS and any other game/simulations on my secondary 1TB HDD. Like above, I have Windows and other programs like Photoshop, my browsers, Microsoft Office and other admin type programs on my main āCā drive which is 200GBās.
Cheers,
C9

I have a 120gb ssd deticated for falcon flights only.
Even with the 45 gigs mentioned by Cloud9 it will be ok.
If not deticated for falcon then what Cloud 9 says is just perfect.Oh c9 that 1gb u probably mean 1tb.

@Cloud:

The only time I refer to 1GB is when I mention the Falcon 4.0 install, which is 1GB and not 1TB. If anyone has a 1TB Falcon 4.0 install, they need to see a doctor!!!
I donāt mention 1GB anywhere else in my post!!

Since your SSD is over half the capacity already, I would suggest not installing anything else in it. SSD performance degrades as it nears capacity. Ideally, Iād advise to buy another SSD, 125GB or 256GB or even greater if you can afford it, and install select games there. Otherwise, Iād suggest you short-stroke your HDD to ensure youāre installing games on the faster sections of the drive.
Hope that helps!

PPS: Would it not be just as easy to say "Create a 200-300GB partition at the front of the 1TB drive to improve performance ?
Sure, I guess you can just partition XXGB and be done with it. However, Iām guessing not all drives are created equal and one drive may be able to get good performance up to 350GB or even 400GB while another may struggle past 250GB, so while it can be easier to just say āoverclock your 6600K to 4.4GHz and be done with itā, itāll be best to actually test your own hardware and see its limitations and that way, youāll be able to maximize your hardwareās capabilities.
