HI BUDDY,
i used that thing, it dissapointed because of the lack of hats on the stick, but it is MORE sensitive and more responsive than the warthog IMHO, because of the fact the light weight molded plastic feels great in your hand and it doesn’t require as much effort to break out. The throttle is absolutely magical, despite the fact it lacks any rotaries or switches on the base, and , as you know most likely, hat final north HAT on the EAST side of the throttle is setup as a POV, and TARGET will not let you switch it to DX, you can only model it in target to report as keyboard call backs, however, target for me, failed every time. I spent hours working with it and finally I decided, especially after plugging it into a warthog, it simply was unreliable.
they make great shit, but the software sucks. Know you can program one mode into all your buttons, and choose what POV hat to lose, the throttle or the stick. That’s what I did, which is sad considering that made me switch sticks eventually.
use your stick base buttons to get your needed modes in there, like gear toggle, or eject, or whatever you like, put DMS and the comms switch on the throttle hats that work, then, put TMS on the POV hat on the stick. everything else is on the TQS and the STICK, make sure that you put CMS UP on one of the yellow or orange (im color blind, THANKS FALCAS OR WHOEVER DID THE HIGH CONTRAST MFDS, BUT I CAN"T SEE SHIT ON THE TGP!!! ;P) buttons, make sure you have cursor zero set somewhere…you’re going to lose commands, that just IS…sorry…you want to make sure you can deliver weapons and fly and communicate with your VAC(voice command software) or whatever with your hands.
put the manual range knob on the slider on the stick, click invert, put the antenna elevation knob on the dial on the throttle, you DO NOT have to invert that one.
On the orange buttons I would go like this: PINKY; uncage. RING; cursor enable. Thumb; cms up
SLEW PUSH: airbrake toggle
two way flap nub hat: DF MODE, DF MODE CANCELstick buttons: trigger; 2nd trigger detent
stick top buttons: 1; pickle. 2; pinky switch. 3; cursor zero.if you can get target working, set the stick pov hat to model keyboard call backs and do: up arrow; F5Ato A MSTR MOD. dwn arrow F6 for AIR-GND MM, and then personally I set left and right to ICP arrow up and down, or x. and z respectively on the keyboard, for steerpoint nxt and prv, as I use a lot of flow calls and DTC STPTS to do massive strike missions on a few spots in a singleton as opposed to only one target per sortie and I fly with a good friend who is also learning and is not up on brevity so has a lot of open mic “uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, where?” so that’s why I do that.
good luck I’ll help you where I can, personally, that stick tracks best of anything out there, and I’ve used everything. it has it’s downsides but if you’re not a confident pilot right now, learning on that stick to fly will make anything that comes next, unless it’s high quality make you go mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh poot!
