TE Mission with naval ship stopped…
-
Hi All,
I would like to build a mission with some naval ship in front of a gulf. I saw that when i fly the mission i build, the ship are on the groud… (!). I think they are moving in.
is it possible to assign a waypoint in order to stop the ship in a determinated point in the map, or better to assign velocity = zero to a group of ship?
Thanks in advance

No. The moment a mission starts, ships will sail in a square pattern. You can give the ship steerpoints through external software (MissionCommander), but I’m not sure what they’ll do after they reach their last point. Could be they then start their square pattern there, or that they return to the first steerpoint.
In this sequence of images, you can clearly see the square pattern, and which ones have run aground.

Hi Eagle-Eye
Thanks you for your fast and detailed feedback. Maybe with Mission Commander i can add a lot of steer point in order to be sure that for the duration of the TE the ship still kepp in the designated area.
Anyway, do you know if there are plan to fix this in future release or maybe in the great EMF scenario?
Thanks again and Happy Christmas and Great new year!

Yes you can make a ship stationary.
Not sure how to do it in MC, but in TacEdit this is how it’s done.
Go the ships unit entry, on the Base Object page, note the X/Y coordinates, go to the Unit Properties page. Click on the WayPts button and a page will open up. Add three waypoints(0/1/2), when adding each waypoint, enter the current X/Y coordinates from the Base Object page, click OK and you’ll return to the Unit properties page.
Make the WayPts 3 and CurWP 1
