So take a preview of the upcoming NavAids list:
Michael and me are working a lot of time already and now we are “on finals” :p.
I personally want to thank Michael “NIL” for his hard efforts, as also ALL the rest devs that putting a lot of personal time in order to offer to this GREAT theater by Joe.
So Thank you very much Joe, Dave “demer928”, Arek “Eghi” and of course the rest guys that i don’t know their name! My respect to ALL of you!
Let’s keep it there guys, we are “on Loc” now…!

Thank you very much for your contribution. One question: What is the source?
-
AIP: Air Information Publication
-
AIP: Air Information Publication
Almost correct.
AIP stands for Aeronautical Information Publication.
Nikos. -
Lol, I’ve been using it in RL for decades but I didn’t remember that lol
-
Hi guys, time for briefing.
Well Michael “NIL” and me have some serious progress in the NavAids of POH theater.
So the file “stations+ils.dat” created and made some corrections to the current data of the pdf list.
Below you can see a preview of the 2nd page of the totally 4:
All the developers of POH theater already have the latest version of NavAids with their list in order to test them.
The last steps are to fill the cells of RWY elevation, of the GPS coordinates and to depend the airports with no TACAN station to the nearest airport that has a TACAN station ;).
We are very near to the end.
Of course any change that will affect any airport will be included in the NavAids list in order to be fully conformal with the theater.
Nikos. -
Thank you for your effort. I feel very fortunate to have your support.
-
@Joe:
Thank you for your effort. I feel very fortunate to have your support.
Thank you very much my good friend Joe.
I feel very nice to work side to you and the rest great guys/developers :p.
Thank you and the rest guys also for your hard efforts in order to offer to us this awesome theater.
Your friend and partner Nikos. -
Hello, gents!
On behalf of the 201st VFS, I would like to thank everyone involved in this great project, especially Joe Labrada, for their hard work and commitment, in order to bring us this amazing theater.
Regarding the NavAids list posted by Nikos and NIL, to whom we also are very grateful for the great work and dedication - thank you very much, gents!
- some elements of our VFS have just pinpointed some innacuracies on the list concerning Portugal airbases’ stations / ILS data.
For this matter, and if you guys don’t mind, we would like to assist you in whatever we can, namelly in providing some corrections / additional info towards the completion of the NavAids list.
We will provide you with all the info we can come up with as soon as possible, if that’s ok with you guys.
Once again, thank you very much for this project!

At friend “Nuno Santos” and anyone that cares about POH theater:
First of all Thank you for your kindly words as also for your nice offer to tell us about any possible inaccuracies.
Now please let me inform you and all about some limitations of Falcon BMS 4.32 that force away anyone who create similar stuff from the perfection:-
About TACAN channels:
VISEU airport in Portugal has a VOR/DME (ID VIS) with channel 078X in real world.
But also Armilla in Spain has a TACAN (ID TGR) and In Salah in Algeria has a VOR/DME (ID NSL), both with channel 078X.
In Falcon BMS 4.32 we can have only one TACAN at a specific channel in order to be working. That means that we must change all the other channels with the same number of TACAN channel to the nearest free one.
In order to select the one airport that will keep the real channel, this is my order:
First the one that has a TACAN station, then a VORTAC station and last a VOR/DME station. If we have 2 or more with the same NavAid, then I look which one has a military wing or that is more important airport.
That’s why you see VISEU airport with channel 061X instead of the real 078X, as also Porto airport that has a VOR/DME (ID PRT) with 067X instead of the real 088X (088X keep the airport Almeria in Spain that has a VOR/DME [ID AMR]). -
About ATC UHF/VHF frequencies:
A lot of airports share the same UHF or VHF ATC frequency as in real life. But when 2 or more airports share the same UHF or VHF ATC frequency and they are very near, there is a big possibility to we have a wrong guidance , means to we guided to a wrong airport and not to the desired one.
Just take a good look at my next example of airports Tourisme (Kenitra the correct name) and Sidi Slimane in Morocco.
They both have a VHF frequency of 124.50. If I have left the same frequency, then as you see if anyone that was approaching the airport Tourisme and been at positions 2, 3 or 4 or at any position just right of the vertical green line that is over the middle of the distance of the 2 airports (28.2 NM), then he just should guided to airport Sidi Slimane and not to the desired Tourisme. Think this event at night.
So in order to eliminate all these possibilities, I always find the same frequencies and then keep only one and change the others at the nearest free frequency.
In this way, Sidi Slimane keeps the real VHF of 124.50 and Tourisme has the new (non real) 124.55 but very near to the real one.- About ILS frequencies:
At airports that have 2 parallel runways, you may see that a specific ILS frequency is not at the nearest RWY but at the other one end of the same runway.
E.g. at an airport 05/23 L/R you may see the RWY 23L to have an ILS frequency when it should has the RWY 23R the specific ILS frequency as the nearest RWY to the real world.
This happens due to the fact that airports with 2 parallel runways have the small RWY with length of 1 NM (like exactly is the length of the airstrips), which means that the landing will be a little difficult. In real world you will see very-very rare to have a so small runway an ILS, so I always move the ILS to the other RWY with the same nearest heading that has a proper length, means to the nearest RWY with the larger length.
So now i think that is a little more clear the status with the data of NavAids for Falcon BMS.
The only thing that you can for sure do is this: If you find any ILS frequency wrong or that some airport has (or has not) in real world an ILS but not (has) at our list, then just inform us.
Again thank you for your support ;).
With my best regards,
Nikos. -
-
Well, I have to thank you once again for your very clear explanation!
Things make more sense now, since you pinpointed some of the code’s limitations, which I personally wasn’t aware of.
Once again, my friends, I / we thank you for what you are doing for this theater and this great sim.
Best regards and looking forward to get my hands on this precious;)
-
Impressive work!!!

Here’s what Nuno Santos was referring to:
It was missing FUNCHAL, LAJES, PONTA DELGADA and PORTO SANTO.
Have kept and insist on PORTO TCN channel, since this is my country’s second important city after capital (LISBON).
About LAJES, it’s conflicting TCN channel/ TWR UHF/VHF. Here couldn’t find any realistic freq not already used. Am insisting on this (also) due to the fact this is a very important and operational NATO airbase.
VISEU can be viewed as an airstrip in falcon and so have considered it has without any nav aids.
All other Comms Freqs where reviewed for non conflicting ones and keeping them realistic.
RWY Headings were corrected (only in the spread sheet) to Falcon ones most closer to real ones, although this is a textures/ objects placing issue. -

They are continually making corrections.Read my last MP, please, in the Escuadrón111. These corrections have already been evaluated in detail off this forum, internally. And we continue to work.
A little patience. Let’s work to our friends. I am in close contact with Nikos and Nil to get the best result, more realistic and compatible with Falcon.I have full confidence in their work.
