64bit crash - dont know why
-
Hi,
after 4 weeks I launched BMS4.33 as just like I did the last years. But for now it crashed without any reason for that.
I changed nothing. No Drivers, no new router, no new Hardware. I installed no new Software. I used Falcon since 4.33 with 64bit Settings and never got any Problems. But now BMS crashed to Desktop every time.
I uninstalled the complete game. I downloaded the complete 4.33 Version including all Updates. I installed BMS six times again and again and again … everytime with the same bad result.
I used no other Theaters, no mods - the clean Installation of BMS only.
When I start it in 32 bit mode all works fine to me but I can`t connect me to other Players. The Grey box where the writing: “Connection established” is normally present, was showing me a clean box without any Messages. So alltimes the result is no Connection.
I use Win 8.1 - 64bit . i5 4460, 3.2GHz, 8GB RAM . NVIDEA GTX 750 Ti
I`m feel frustrated and helpless. I hope that anybody can help me.
Cheers
TomPS: No Virus , Windows re-installed and clean, launched BMS as admin …

any force feeadback devices conected?
any external monitors for mfd’s that might got a -xxx value on display coordinates? -
Hi,
Arty was right. After I disconected my Joystick all works fine.
After some days (BMS reinstall and other moves) I found a new Driver for my Joystick. Windows installed it without any confirmations by myself. However- After I was able to de-install These Joystick Driver my BMS works correct.
Many thanks Arty,
cheers

TomGeez!.. So that means that even such hard to notice changes to the system files can disrupt normal performance of this sim… unbelievable… a warning to all of us to be extremely careful about any alterations to hardware/software once a stable install has been reached…

What kind of joystick was it? This is good info for others out there.

Makes sense. I’m just curious because Logitech put out new legit (Signed) x64 drivers for the x52 and Pro after they bought Saitek last month. I haven’t played with them yet, but I am curious to see how they fare. If they work correctly, I might stop telling people not to use the SST.

Arty…
short note to thank you for sharing your BMS 433 wisdom on the forum… After running BMS 433/U3 successfully for a couple of months with on-line multiplayers, my BMS suddenly crashed at startup this week… My first reaction was - here we go again with a fresh install… Fortunately, your thread peaked my interest, so I looked into my extracted MFD settings and they were bizzare! Reset with windows mode, relaunch and walla! All is good now…
Much appreciated, Getsno -
Thanks guys this is why I had made the list… and it’s not to thank me…
Edit: The list references are not mine… other ppl did the hard work. I’m just the messenger here…
