KEYSPEECH 3.0.0 released. Now supports multiple DirectX PTTs!!!!
-
Tittle says it all
Keyspeech has a new version (3.0.0) that now allows the use of multiple directX buttons as PTTs.
trial version can be downloaded here. http://www.keyspeech.net/#/Download
So my only drawback to KEYSPEECH is now solved. Great support listening to all the feedback from users/customer.
Now there is no excuse not to talk to your AI wingmen. ATC or AWACS…
enjoy

yesssssssssss……

I currently use Voice Activated Commands (VAC) and have no issues with it at all. Is there any compelling reason to switch to Keyspeech? I do note that it is less costly.

yeah man!

I assume that you use it to VAC play offline.
I encountered a lot of problems to use VAC online, because VAC is desperately trying to “recognize” phrases. That is not a problem when playing offline, becuase you do not talk to anybody else other than the AI, and all the radio calls should fall into one of the vac profile phrases.
BIG BIG problem is when you try to use VAC online to play with your sqn mates and it produces a lot of false positives. By false positive i mean, for example, when you say to your sqn buddy over the radio “I am going to grab a beer” and VAC understands “tower request taxi” and types “t5” for you. It is an idotic example, but just to give a rough idea.
Kespeech instead, can be used online with almost no false positives, even when it is listening to the normal sqn chat over the radio because you can adjust how “picky” the voice recognition is.
My config is as follows:
UHF and VHF switches on my cougar are mapped to UHF/VHF transmit for IVC but at the same time both are mapped as keyspeech PTTs.
That means that whenever I tell to my human wingman over IVC “U are a useless piece of shit!!!”(and that happens almost on every flight LOL), keyspeech is listening, but since my accuracy setting is set to a high 92%, keyspeech is not likely to understand it as a command.
On the other hand, when I say over IVC “Chalis, Falcon 11 request picture”, all my sqn mates will listen to that over IVC and so will keyspeech. So keyspeech will recognize the call as a “AI” command and will type Q1 for me.
Bottomline, all players on AWACS freq will listen to my call, as if it was a real picture call, and then they will listen AWCAS reply, and I do all that just with my voice and the comms switch.
Besides, and no offense to the VAC profile creators, I think my KEYSPEECH profiles are more detailed, have more phrases and combinations based on my real life experience and can offer a bigger sense of inmersion, specially if it is taken into consideration the fact that I created profiles for all F-16 callsigns and that you can include your callsign in the radio call, just like it should be done RL.
just give it a try, it has a trial period and my profiles are for free… LOL

Thanks for info. Yes, most of my BMS flights nowadays are offline. I have flown online extensively, however, and used a unique PTT switch exclusively for VAC; so no VAC confusion or false positive issues. I have found VAC to be very accurate and robust in identifying a very large number of phrases, especially when flying DCS. I certainly can see the advantages, you described, though, so I am inclined to give Keyspeech a trial. I also like that Keyspeech can use DX buttons as PTT, which VAC can not do.

i had completely forgotten about it and im downloading it immediately.

Nice!!
The use of multiple directX buttons as PTT is great!!
Thanks!!

Can you make some tutorial of “how to start”?
I download the Keyspeech but i can´t get open the xml file.I am sorry, i am going to be honest. ATM I don’t have time to make a tutorial.
I assume that you have already read the info contained in the profiles post.
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?18261-KEYSPEECH-PROFILES-FOR-ALL-CALLSIGNS!!!
If not, check the info there, should be enough to get started.
You don’t need to open the .xml file. Just install the profiles corresponding to STD keyboard (based on your location) by copying them to the keyspeech intallation folder.
PROFILE FILES themselves must be there, not the folder.
Then just start keyspeech. Rightclick on the icon on your taskbar and select settings
once there choose your preferred PTTS, the profile according to your callsign and the accuracy slider. I suggest you start with an accuracy value of 95% and start trimming it down until your ratio of positives/false positives is good for you.
I apologize for being so “escueto” but right now I can`t give you no more.
hope it works, suerte amigo

It works like a charm!
But…Is it posible to change/mute the ‘frog sound’ when a word or phrase is acepted?

Not that I am aware of. But I never tried it anyway.
It never bothered me . But it could be a good suggestion.
I recommend you send an email to the dev. This guy really listens to suggestions.
I liked your “frog sound” definition…

cant seem to get this working. got the profiles all in the right place, have the hot keys set up, selected the profile for the callsign (you really have to pick a profile for every callsign? that’s annoying)……nothing.

is your windows speech recognition working?
Are you trying directly on BMS? Are you using a key como or Dx as PTTs?
If so, please follow the folling steps first:
Right click on Keyspeech’s taskbar icon and selct “Enable syntheside voice”. Open a text editor (notepad, wordpad) and try some phrases. Check if A) keyspeech is detecting the right phrases and B) if the keys are being typed on the text editor.
Regarding the callsign, it takes me less than 30 seconds and 3 clicks to change the profile for the right callsign and I take it as part of my preflight checklist.
Anyway I am open to suggestions to make it more user friendly, but merging all the 576 callsign profiles in one is not an option. I don`t think keyspeech can handle a profile that is 515MB.
And remember you can always use generic calls no matter what profile it is loaded. i.e. “magic, request picture” can be always used beside “magic, falcon 11 request picture”

You can also use KeySpeech’s plugin for TeamSpeak
There are two predefined commands :
- Move to channel
- Whisper to user
You need to download the plugin on KeySpeech’s Web site because TeamSpeak’s Plugin Web Site is on maintenance.

Hi KeySpeech. Got some thought on the KeySpeech tool.
I would like to see the following added.
Add a directive to your ReadMe or somewhere smarter where the speech training wizard can be found in your Windows setup. Something simple like Start/Control Panel/Speech Recognition or even Start/Control Panel/Ease of Access/Speech Recognition.
Take care of unistalling the previous version in your installer.
Having 305 intalled I got an update request for 306, not 307 although the readme shows me 307 and 307 is installed.Cheers,

To open Windows Speech Recognition engine (setting, training):
- Open Windows Speech Recognition profile tool by selecting Profile manager item within KeySpeech’s popup menu on Windows taskbar
- click on Advanced Speech Options control panel’s link within Windows Speech Recognition profile tool

Balloon tip show an accuracy average, then it will useful to adjust accuracy slider
