UK keyboard? Try changing the control by highlighting the entry blue and pressing a key and see if that works.

The missile step button on the stick controls missiles (duh), NWS, and the AAR refueling socket. I’m pretty sure the condition for NWS activation is electric power, gear is down, weight on wheels, AAR door closed. The light is on the short stalk right of the HUD.

Try committing to a taxi start so the airplane is already started as a reasonable condition of testing. Try using different buttons in controls avoiding joystick profiling software for testing, spacebar even. The goal is to get that green text “NWS” on that right-hand stalk.

The nose wheel is steered by the rudder pedals. Make sure you can see the rudder moving to confirm the pedals are being pressed.

                1. Is the AR/NWS light on?
                2. Do you have pedals?
                3. Is “Enable Roll-linked NWS” enabled under SETUP > CONTROLLERS > ADVANCED > VIEW CONTROL?

                SimMissileStep -1 0 0x32 0 0 0 1 “STICK: NWS A/R DISC MSL STEP SWITCH”

                    1. Well, if the AR/NWS light is not on, then NWS is not engaged. Press the Missile Step button or whatever key combination you’ve mapped to the SimMissileStep callback to make the light come on, then you’ll have NWS.
                    2. Are the pedals mapped properly? Do you get rudder response in the air?
                    3. I’m not sure if roll-linked NWS will work if you have a rudder set up properly, but this is moot if the AR/NWS light is not on 🙂

So, what have you mapped SimMissileStep to?

Roll-linked NWS requires that the rudder axis is ‘keyboard’ controller. You can still tick the checkbox I think but it won’t workie.

While it should be checked if the rudder is responding to the rudder axis, not being able to illuminate the NWS indication is problem numero uno. The question I guess is to really, really, really check if SimMissileStep is actually the command being triggered. If not then I’d investigate if SimMissileStep does its other non-NWS functions (AAR and changing missile selection and cycling CCRP-CCIP-DTOS).
