AIM 120 impact time?

Hi all

Just wondering if there is a way to determine how long an AIM 120 will take to hit a locked up target? i.e. After I fire at a target, how can I determine when the missile is going to impact the target? Not sure if there is a countdown timer or is it just a matter of know the missile’s parameters and the range to the target and doing some mental math as to when the missile will hit, assuming of course, the target doesn’t jink or try to evade.

I ask because I find that I fire an AIM 120 at a target and don’t want to fire another one until I’m sure that the missile has hit, easy enough to see, or has missed the target, not so easy to see.

Around page 133 there’s a lot is information on HUD cueing and symbology some of which is about time and distance to target when using the AIM-120.
