So…this has been rattling around inside my head for a while, and while I lack the skills to actually create a full on theater…I thought maybe I might provoke some thought. While not supporting a full on campaign, what about a training theater that is composed of the US East Coast area? Say…starting at Norfolk, Virginia in the north, out 100 miles into the Atlantic and then down to the northern Florida pan handle? That would be less than 1,000KM X 1,000KM in map size (less than Korea) and there’s a number of good training ranges…

      Thoughts?

        Be our guest.
Start a new WIP thread to present us your progress.
We will assist u in any way we can…

As u can see there is a multiorgasm of new things and theaters in progress but for sure this community needs more actual doers than thinkers.

        Have fun.

Evidently it was beyond your reading comprehension to grasp the portion where I said I didn’t have the skills yet wanted to simply put the idea out there.

If not all, most of the guys in this community didn’t or still don’t have the skills to accomplish such or other tasks.
If we waited for skillful guys to drop from the sky like mana from heavens Falcon would be dead long gone by now.

So besides putting the idea and thank you very much for it are u willing to put anything more on it?

It’s a very nice idea and it would be great to reach a point to be usable by the community besides just reading it and after a few years remember or recall it like hey one guy once had an idea about a theater, well it would be nice to have flawn it.

There is no school or enterprise here that works and produces.

Each member put’s it’s share to build things up, others by contributing a small gravel others with a rock others with a mountain and others with a mountain range… it’s a team effort.

All started from ground zero with zero to just a few knowledge, this is what this community is for… Ask and shall receive. One helps another. But not just ask, u must do whatever in your powers to get to the spring of water. if u need guidance we all will be more than happy to help you out and find the way and craft the skills, your skills.

So BMS community needs u. Are you for it?

                Tss tss Arty… multiorgasm?

Racefuel, Arty has a point. It’s not only about suggesting but it’s also about getting into the thick of it and try.

As for your initial suggestion, i don’t think it would yield enough interest:
Look at the nevada discussion on the forum. it’s THE training theater by excellence and although debated to death, it’s still not a reality in BMS.
So an eastcoast terrain is IMHO way lower on the priority list & it has an even less chance to actually happen.
                My own 2 cent

Reality if for ppl who can't handle simulation

…one jerk does not a multi-orgasm make. Evidently it takes some untold number of them.

May the bridges I burn light the way

A group of French Canadian Developers built a WIP Quebec/Northeast USA Theatre and publicly unveiled it 10 years ago. Eventually, the group ceased development and disbanded. They managed to create a terrain, UI work for FF5 and a basic TE type campaign. I have their work buried away in a forgotten hardrive. After BMS’ initial release, I tried to contact their leader for permission to migrate their work to BMS 4.32. Sadly, they author’s email was un-contactable and his website was taken down. If anybody wants to develop the theatre, I can dig it up. The terrain tiles are really old and very low resolution. The theatre probably needs a complete rebuild in order to be compatible with BMS 4.34.

No need 2 feel like that m8.
At least that was not my point.
Slowly this community is growing in respect of doers and sharing but still are few.
So we keep proposing and asking ppl to get involved besides ideas.
Newcomers don’t actually know how this community works.
                          So someone must do it.
On the other hand some come with the spirit: hey jerks why didn’t u already done those and burst a huge list or low priority staff. This gets ppl of the community to show their claws. [emoji38]
