Falcon 4 History Chart
-
Updated for FF disappearance.
-
well it didnt… it’s Open Source… So I would say a new chapter to FF. Also a new chapter for BMS as newbs working on that OSC can proove and make their way to BMS. So it can also work as a think tank for BMS.
-
What I mean is that the FreeFalcon team isn’t anymore. Although derived from its codebase (apparently not the last FF code), the FreeFalconOSP is a new step with new people and a new vision.

great post
correction: i dont give a damn, and F4 bms is not that great of an event or personality to have a history about. For the team: please have the spine not to delete my comments and confront me.

Hi there,
[For those of you that haven’t seen this document yet]
Wondering where are all those BMS, openFalcon and FreeFalcon groups coming from? Vaguely heard about SuperPak and ViperOps? Don’t have a clue about what iBeta and eRazor are?
Here’s the Falcon 4 evolution story, in a graphical timeline:

WOW that is something else. Quite a history and yet it still lives on, lucky for us. I Totally forgot about the Hornet Naval strike fighter, I did own that one, I guess that shows my age… oops.

Very Nice History of the Falcon that you put together, brings me right up to speed. THANK YOU!

No doubt these F4 devs are some of the most dedicated folks in the world. They can make great things happen with meager resources. However, I am a little concerned about F4’s graphical engine, it being several decades old. Has there been any thoughts on porting BMS over to some more modern gaming environments such as DCS or FX?

Well, I can’t use it as avatar since it isn’t an avatar.

Slightly off topic, I am always surprised that Wikipedia has so little on Falcon 4 history.
