Hook. I have no idea what that error means, and I’m not aware of anywhere to get a free download of the game. GoG has a bundle for $10 that includes Falcon $ and Allied force that worked fine for me. You might try posting in the Tech Support and see if anyone nibbles there.

What version are we talking about? Falcon 4.0 directly from CD, or with 1.08i patch applied or any of the BMS versions?

BMS 4.33.3 does not work under XP, but BMS 4.33.2 does though I ran into memory problems during the campaign (read: BMS crashing a lot).
BMS 4.32.7 runs very happily under XP though.

Some optical drives would have trouble reading the original install dics.

                  Two quick fix’s ,

Install off a “Mapped” network CD drive.

                  OR

Copy contents of original 4.0 CD to a local Hard drive folder and then run setup from there.

This is true. My gaming PC’s drive could not install Falcon 4.0 from the CD so I thought my CD was kaput…. but trying it on my laptop, it works!! 🙂
