Many times when there is a windows 10 setup all my controller settings go screwy.
-
I don’t know if this happens to others, but it seems that once every few months when there is a new windows 10 setup, my warthog controller settings are reset, and I need to go back to the setup menu, set the afterburner again, set up the rudders again, and then things are back to normal, but its just annoying. Anyone else have this issue? Anyway to set it up so when good old Microsoft issues an update they don’t break Falcon?

I’ve noticed it usually happens when they have a hardware related update. Usually notice changes to my hardware ID’s. Not really anything I think you can do once the ID changes except remap them.

The third-party software, BMS Alternative Launcher may help. Didn’t work for my particular Saitek controller, but might work for you:

So is this a problem basically everyone has? From time to time when windows does an update we have to go back and fix our settings? (And thanks Vapor for that alternative launcher idea, but i just don’t really want to mess with that right now.)

Windows 10
Simplest workaround I can suggest is just to copy your good settings (axismapping.dat, joystick.cal, windowconfig.dat) back into your User\Config from your backup when Microsoft cocks up Windows Update again.

never seen this myself on win 10 so far thankfully

+1 (I don’t have a WG, but USB ids are not joystick specific)
