Mottled text - Falcon UI
-
Hello,
Does anybody know how to change the Falcon user interface font type and color for an issue I’m having with barely able to read what are mottled, white fonts? When I say mottled, I mean that the font looks sort of transparent and blotchy.

Take a look at the hotlist.
For which text are u talking about? Menu buttons or like text on the map or flights - packages?Στάλθηκε από το MI 5 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk

A screenshot would be helpful, and maybe your system specs?

Ok… here’s a screenshot. As for hotlist - I did just take a look, and didn’t see anything pertaining. Hardware: win10/64, I7, 12GB, 1TB SSD, 3200x1800 display w nvidea 940m, and Cougar w IJ and Cub’s hall mods.

This looks wrong. Maybe u changed the zoom in windows, named DPI option. Or other setting or problematic VGA or monitor.

I have the same issue, since i install new graphic drivers. I cant figure it out, i tried every setting on drivers, monitor , Falcon. And i dont remenber version of previous drivers…

It looks to me that the GPU applies some sort of anti-aliasing (or smoothing) to all fonts, as the same effect may be noticed everywhere in dodgerdog’s screenshot. What happens if you set all driver settings to “Application-controlled”?
Another guess: could this occur due to Windows font smoothing?

Interesting. With such a high resolution, I’m guessing you’ve modified something to make the desktop icon fonts more readable? Increased the zoom level? Try undoing those.

Roll back to older drivers? Sometimes, the “newest” does not mean it’s the “greatest”

Yeah i figure that…:)…I have tried older drivers, even BMS reinstall… nothing. Tonight i try that windovs font smoothnes and some other settings. As i know myself it can endup with windovs reinstall or huge cloud above middle europe.

On nVidia setting pannel, set “Antialiasing - FXAA” to OFF.
-
In AMD/ATI Cards you can fix it disabling Morphologic filter. Try to see if your Nvidia has something similar.
-
Also be aware the UI is only 1024X768 resolution and if using full screen with a high resolution monitor 1024 always looks blocky.

YES that’s it - in Nvidea Control Panel, turned FSAA off, and now fonts are crystal. Thanks DeeJay, and to others for pitching in to solve!

And for me, thanks to agalnov. For AMD cards works disabling Morphologiic filter. Its strange to me because i try all of the settings, how can i miss that. Thanks .

I must add this to the hotlist

Indeed - and I thought this issue only happened on old systems using the AA-/Morph-settings by the graphic card driver/panel to override the ingame options.
A separate scalable (non 3D) menue would be great.
