"Shoot" voice recognition app w .net - still viable
-
Hello, Back in the day, I was using a voice recognition app called game commander on an XP32 computer. It was an excellent VR solution - I had Cougar TQS radio switch setup to enable game commander along with use of said radio switch while online gaming using “Teamspeak”. Anyways, I tried resurrecting Game Commander, but it just doesn’t want to play nicely with WIN10/64 - tried compatibility modes to no good avail. That said, I remember trying an equivalent voice recognition app called “Shoot” that required .net, and editing an XML list of Falcon key commands. If I remember correctly, Shoot was pretty decent - just more tedious editing XML tags as compared to Game Commander, but really not too bad was consistent or reliable enough. So I’m wondering if “Shoot” is a current day viable solution for key commands/voice recognition? As an aside, is “Teamspeak” still the way to go with VFW SOP/online gaming.

Look in this area https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?56-Voice-Control
You will get many suggestions. Mine is Voice attack. There is a free limited command version but does not cost much to buy. Works great.

Another suggestion and I think is older than Voice Attac is VAC or Voice Activated Commands. Works great and the default BMS install includes Dee Jay’s profiles for VAC in QWERTY, QWERZ, and AZERTY configurations (located in \Docs\Key Files & Input\Device Setup Guides & Profiles\Voice Activated Commands).

hey dodgerdog
I know you are using win 10, but Game Commander 2 works good with Win 7, as long as it’s NOT in a compatibility mode. One thing though, it needs to be shut down manually before booting down.
By chance did you try it without a compatibility mode?

Hi Axe, I must have tried Game Commander 2 straight away WIN10 in all out effort to resurrect. I’ll try again, and thanks for WIN7 tip, but that’s an OS in the past for me now. Thanks to all for the other equivalents suggestions - looks like I have some exploring to do now
… cheers

Shoot can work in Win8.1 , mine do
…
So, Yes , Shoot will probably work in Win10 environment also. Your only ‘problem’ is to install install NET framework 1.1 , which is obsolete on Win8.1/Win10. Just search online how to do it. If you can’t find , I’ll help.
I have already prepared (updated) package of NET1.1 for Win8.1 , which should install on Win10 also, so after that , Shoot has to work.Cheers
This is NOT correct ! , NET3.5 is NOT compatible with NET1.1 , at least with apps which are not ported from 1.1 to 3.5 ,… which are written well before 3.5

Anyone tried GAVPI?

You guys can try GlovePie its very useful and simple it even comes with a DOC or PFD explaining how to write the language for GlovePie scripting, this is amazing because it will help you script your own personal files for the game you intend to use GlovePie for. Here is a link –-------->https://glovepie.en.softonic.com/
as always before installing check for viruses i will not be held responsible for anything that may or may not happen
to your PC -
Hi Axe, I must have tried Game Commander 2 straight away WIN10 in all out effort to resurrect. ……
I figured you probably did, I only mentioned it because I didn’t try it straight away … until after first trying some compatability modes. It is after all circa win millennium. But its working great for me in 7.
I love the built in voice training that it has.
