      Can it be done ?

I was thinking to do that on my next campaign (korea), to add an F-16C50 squadron to n. korea so i can play against s. korea and the U.S.
I also want to control all aspects of the campaign like i do usually, is doing it on the other side can be probllematic ?

Also, do i get an AWACS support like i normally get ?

any thoughts on the subject will be appreciated 🙂

        @regev:

It can be done, and it sounds like an interesting idea. I’m just wondering how basic IFF would work? How would you know if that F-16 you just spotted (RWR nail/spike, NCTR or visual identification) is friendly or hostile. With BMS already giving the player a disadvantage in identifying contacts on a cluttered scope, is adding that to the list a smart decision?

Of course, there are ways around that:
        1. Remove ROK/US F-16’s:
By doing this, PRK is the only F-16 operator remaining, and for that reason, every F-16 is friendly, just like it is now on US/ROK side. With BMS being an F-16-centric sim, however, you’d be taking away a considerable amount of assets from the KOR/US OOB.
If you replace the assets you take away, which aircraft will you use to replace the F-16, so that it doesn’t become too easy or impossible?

        2. Adding the AGRS version to PRK:
Fixes the RWR-issue (AGRS = 29), but not the NCTR or visual identification (unless you’re close enough to see the skin). Also, IIRC, unless you edit the AGRS, you have no A-G capability, so you’re restricted to A-A roles. If a campaign with a player on PRK side is equal to US/ROK campaigns, you’ll have nothing left to do after day 2. 🙂

In ITO you fight against Egyptian F-16s. That’s an added variable like here that I think makes it even more challenging for SA for example. Know where your forces are, determine if what youre watching is maneuvering aggressively towards you or your allies, ask AWACS, raygun, etc…

          Cheers!

Lets make it clear, i will not have A-G capabilities ? why is that ?

I’m now in the middle of the balkan campaign . . . when i wil finish it, i will start to check the subject of being on the enemy side.
I think if that could be done it wil be great . . . i want to be challenge by a new threats 🙂

Because, by default, there is no A-G ordnance on the AGRS. Just open the TE Builder, add an AGRS (block 30 and 32 only, by the way), and you’ll see you can only select A-A missiles, fuel tanks, jammers and the FPR Pod.

If you want A-G ordnance, you can by manually editing each AGRS hardpoint in Falcon Editor, but AFAIK, this is MP-critical, meaning you won’t be able to fly with anyone who doesn’t have those changes applied as well.

O.K, done some testing in TE.
Blue side is the enemy (NATO), i joined to FRY and addaed to each side different units (aircrafts,Battalions, ships).

                    1. The F-16 got all functionallity, including AG RDR.
                    2. Didn’t find a tanker on FRY side so i’m using KC-10.
                    3. Flying over an SA-10 and not getting shutdown . . . strange feeling + formation flight with mig-29 around you . . . very exiting.
                    4. its a TE in progress, and next step is to engage F-16/F-15.
