Future of Falcon BMS

Thanks jhook. I have to admit that as powerful as my computer and graphics card are, I don’t know squat about how to optimize their performance. I’m like a guy with a Formula 1 car that only drives the speed limit!

No problem my friend. I take it that you set up your gfx card now and everything rocks?!
Hmmm,
There should be a thread (make it a sticky) about gfx settings. Arty should chime in on this as well. He might want to add that to his “hot” list. Perhaps something like this…
AA = Set according to your gfx cards ability for smoothing based on the gpu speed. As a general rule of thumb, 4x or higher is a good setting, but there is no need for maxed AA as Falcon bms will not utilize these higher settings to any greater extent, and your performance will take a big hit.
AF = Turn this setting off. Falcon bms uses it’s own AF modeling in game, and can effect your performance by reducing FPS.
MFAA = Turn this setting off as it has no effect in Falcon bms and will reduce overall performance.
VR = Turn this setting off as you would limit the FPS in Falcon bms.
Other settings should also be included, but this is just a sample. I’m sure others here have similar stories about gfx card settings.

ive been into sims since commidoor 64 days .One of my fav was an ah64 appache sim all i had was an atari controller an overlay for the keyboard, some really bad graffix, and a whole lot of imagination.Still i spent o many hrs on it i threw the keyboard overlay to the side.Im sure that like myself sims just got my mind goin like no video game ever could. Now im not 12yrsold and sims have come a long way. im amazed at the variety i have to choose from and im happy to have dcs and il2 and yes my all time fav f4.i read the eopee what a road and knowing that we are a smll market thankful for the people at bms for keeping an awesome sim alive and getting better all the time.so im not wantin to turn my nose at any company trying to bring new things to the sim community and happy that we have choices. and have a deep respect for the people who spend there free time so we have bms to enjoy thank u

Been doing sims since C64 days myself. Not AH64, rather F-15 Strike Eagle. Ya, the stick gfx sucked but it was cool to fly to Lybia and Iraq at the time. Now, sims continue to evolve. Especially bms. DCS and IL2 and other sims have evolved as well, but from a pure fighter sim perspective (my own) I fly mostly bms. I do have FSX and the VRS Hornet I fly once in a while, but only for doing traps. However, the F/a-18 is rumored to be undergoing an indepth makeover. Also, carrier operations are also rumored to be on the table as well. Can’t wait to see that!
