BMS Using IFF in IFF out UHF and VHF and Team Speak

I am setting up my joystick and I was wondering is IFF in and IFF out is really used that much in BMS? Also, do I need to setup UHF and VHF if I am using Teamspeak? OH, I also forgot do you use CMS up down left and right?

IFF in and out are used for datalink. If you don’t use datalink, you dont need them.
UHF and VHF are used for comms, so you only need them if you are flying multiplayer.
CMS is used for dispensing countermeasures like chaff and flares. Again, you only need them if you intend to release countermeasures.

If you can, map everything possible on your HOTAS. You might not use some of it now but as you progress you will need it.
