I would imagine it looks the same 🙂 but bigger….
Performance-wise, it would depend whether you’re changing resolutions with what you’re currently set up with.

40" 4K looks and runs great for me

so 32" should do just fine

Mower, I have a 21:9 35 inch LG monitor in 2560x1080 resolution. BMS is amazing. If you set your FOV correctly, you don’t even need to use Track IR for situational awareness. Also, using an Nvidia 7800TI, I get great FPS.

The 32 inch Im looking at would only by 1080 p 1920 by 1080.

              Will BMS be pixelated?

No, you should be fine. Pixelation gets noticeable around 35 inches on a 16:9 1920x1080 resolution monitor. That’s kind of why you see so many 35 inch monitors in either 2K, or 21:9 aspect ratio. Another really good option is getting a 40 inch 4K TV from Costco. Even a lower quality brand will look great with BMS or other simulation software. The only drawback is that the refresh rate isn’t high enough for your typical 60 FPS First Person Shooter.

Why not go to 4K already? These days I would never think of upgrading monitor without 4K, if V-card isn’t strong enough then I think you should postpone the upgrade until you can get a 4K with a card that can run it.

Well I opted for a 27" as a 32" 1920x1080 would not have looked good.

Not if you are far enough away……

Retina distance is going to be 49" (milage will vary a little according to eyesight), so you will need some deskspace in front of you. If you sit closer then its going to be pixelated.

If looking to buy an 34" LG 21:9 (2560x1080) monitor as well, what would be the correct FOV setting to match the monitor?

“It depends”…. what FOV are you comfortable at on a 16:9 screen? I suggest taking a screenshot of that. Then when you get your widescreen monitor, adjust the FOV so that your cockpit becomes the same size as in your 16:9 screenshot.

Or adjust FOV so that the HUD is roughly the same size as a RL HUD.

Terminator, I use a FOV of where I can still see the MFD and HUD in the vertical plane. This way I have a large of my surrounding left and right of the cockpit. That seems to work for me. BTW, that is the same monitor I am using. It is truly amazingly immersive in flightsims like Falcon, IL2, Prepar3d/FSX.

                                    I got a 27 inch 1980 res monitor cause that’s all I could afford but it’s 144hz and 1ms.

Mower, you will have a lot of fun with that guy. 144htz/1ms means it will give you lightening fast performance. YUou should be able to play any twitch fist person shooter with any screen tearing or ghosting. Most importantly, being 27 inches at 1920x1080 dpi, you properly will use very little or no Anti Aliasing. Your pixels will be packed tight enough that the dreaded jagged lines shouldn’t be visible unless at ultra high zoom out of low poly count 3d objects.

Yeah you’re correct in that I was able to cut back on the AA in P3D and gain a few fps.
In BMS in can also wide view out more for better immersion.

At normal monitor viewing distances of about 30" monitors larger than 27" should be at least 1440 lines to avoid screen door effect IMO. Larger monitors need higher res or longer viewing distances.

Above 27 absolutely. .27 works well with 1920 as clarity is still excellent.
