Unusual HARM kill

Hi,

While getting acquainted with the POH 0.8.0 terrain and features I fly simple TE’s, but also, quite often, Instant Action in the A-G mode which gives me additional training in the usage of the four A-G weapons available. My goal is to score a kill with each weapon in a single flight. Today I scored a pretty unusual kill, though:

The HARm was fired in the POS/RUK mode. Does the T-55 have some kind of a radar emitter, or was the hit purely accidental (say, instead of an adjacent FAN SONG)? In RL, is the HARM’s warhead powerful enough to destroy a tank?

Also, I was glad to note that a single GBU had taken out two SCUDs…

Without a tape it’s hard to say with confidence, it is most likely coincidental, the T-55 being nearby the radar, or some sort of agg-deagg issue.

I don’t know if the DROZD anti tank missile system can cause a HARM lock
If anyone knows better can help.

Thanks for the input. Have you been able to reproduce this event?

I tried to, Joe, but at each subsequent attempt the HARM launched in exactly the same mode kills the enemy radar, as supposed to. In the situation described in my first post the HARM probably missed the radar vehicle and hit the nearby one, which happened to be a T-55.
