Is anyone else having this issue with LGB’s?..…I notice I can get the GBU’s to drop except when I select another weapon or mode, once I do that and switch back to the LGB’s every thing sets up normal but the bomb do not fall on cue, I just end up flying over the target, when flying missons it is nessessary to switch between weapons and modes. I think this is a bug but I was just wondering if I just need to maybe reinstall or do others have this issue also, I am guessing there is nothing that can be done to correct this short of a patch, I also am sure I will be asked what steps did I follow in deploying the ordinance so I will outlined them below.

      1. A/G Mode

      2. Tgt Pod on in A/G mode ( also has an A/A mode )

      3. Laser sw on

      4. Confirm tgt pod slaved to FCR by cycling thru steerpoints, TMS dwn if not to slave it.

      5. DMS Dwn to place S.O.I. to tgt pod

      6. TMS up to gnd stabilize pod and sw to area mode

      7. adjust crosshairs over tgt

      8. follow fall line cue for dropping the ordinance.

      9. Am I doing this right?

Don’t hold the pickle but until time to release is no more than 2 seconds. The is some old old issue with the pickle which we weren’t able to find yet. Holding the pickle inside 2 seconds seems to solve this bug completely.

Or release pickle after the release cue passed and press pickle again.

              I’ve also had this issue

just press and hold the pickle button when there’s just 00:02 left to target, like the others above me mentioned.

I just fly my fall-line, don’t press pickle the first time round, keep going on fall line and hold pickle when i’m close to the target. Works like a charm for me now.

Hey thanks guys, the 2 sec trick seemed to correct this, my first pass I expected things to work because I didnt switch modes or weapons or anything, just wanted to confirm it would work basically, the second pass I switched things around a little, modes, HSD and weapons and I got it to work, I originally planned to do several passes to avoid a fluke, but I know it would not have worked before switching things like I did so I didnt feel several passes were nessessary……thanks again!

do note that if your bomb fails to drop, you can release pickle and hit it again to command a drop anyway. not wise to do with other bombs (is it even possible?) but since GBUs guide really well, you will almost always strike your target (even if moving) as long as you command a drop 1 to two seconds after 0.00

they are nice like that. less destructive in general than cluster, but can be dropped from ridiculous heights with perfect accuracy.

Years playing BMS and all this time I thought it was my fault, something I did wrong, maybe the angle, the speed… man, how many bridges and factories would have been destroyed if I knew about this 2 second thing!

Thank you thank you thank you.
