      Hi,

after installing BMS-U-1 I flew a simple two-ship flight and pressed CTRL+y+r to see what FPS I have…

My FPS were 27! In words: Twenty seven!

The weird thing is after installing updates 2 to 4, FPS raised up to 160!
But after rebooting to Linux and back to Win-7 and playing, I had again only 27 FPS!

Currently I have two games, Bioshock 1 to 3 and this sim.
Even Bioshock 3, aka Bioshock Infinite, is running like a charm with ultra settings.

So now I’m heavily wondering what the issue is with the sim.

      My system:
      i3-6100 3,7 GHz
      GTX-1060-6 GB, latest graphics driver
      16 GB RAM
      34" monitor, 21:9, 3440*1440, 100 MHz
      Win-7

Would be very nice if we could solve that issue.

      -----------------------EDIT-----------------

I just deinstalled 433-U-1 with all updates and installed the first version of 4.33 to see if there will be a difference.
But, no, still 27 FPS in a simple two ship flight…
(BTW. even with HDR lightning off.)

Then I turned on VSync from inside the sim and wonder, oh wonder, constantly 60 FPS! With 35% clouds and fair weather condition, HDR and HighRes-tiles!

Do someone know what causes 27 FPS with VSync off and with VSync on constantly 60 FPS?
And why do I had the joy for 160 FPS with VSync off?

      TIA and best regards

To start with that monitor supports Free Sync which is a AMD solution not Nvida (G-Sync). Which might explain the need to use VSync, which historically should always be selected in Falcon.

I doubt you will ever get 160 Fps @ 3440x1440 unless out in the ocean looking at blue sky only. And most likely stoned. 😉

Yes, that was a short time also one of my thoughts… <hmmm thinking=“”>And, no, I really had a short time 160 FPS (BTW over land, simple two ship flight of course).
As I wrote in the OP, that was after I installed updates 1 to 4 and also after several restarts of the sim. First “my” 27-FPS came back after I made reboot to my Linux distribution and back to Win-7 and starting the sim again…

But thanks for your pointer on FreeSync from AMD…

          Best regards
          Earlybite</hmmm>

Just had again a look at the monitor and FreeSync is off. Can AMD FreeSync still have an effect on FPS?

Not all, but the most I already know about VSync…, but all that do not handle the 27-FPS to 60-FPS with VSync on!
It does not make sense that I only have 27 FPS with VSync off!

My old system i5-3450, GTX-960, 27" 2560*1440, 8 GB RAM had around 70 FPS in a simple two ship flight over land, so I expected around 140, 150 FPS in that case. But I have 27 . And I would like to know the why…

                  Vga profiles?
                  Cable?
And since your monitor is freesynch well…
Have vsynch off in Falcon gfx settings.
Enable vsynch in VGA settings and tripple buffering, and set it to high performance.
I believe with those u will get the best solution.
Other tech specs from monitor or VGA?
Is your power settings in windows control panel to high performance?

Don’t expect double fps cause u upgraded your VGA.
                    Doesn’t work that way.

I have seen it in the upper left corner by CTRL+y+r! There is about that no doubt anymore!

Or on what do want to point to?

This is recommended against in the installation instructions. I would get familiar with the new keystrokes for 4.33UX or you may run into other issues down the road.

I know this announcement, but I use this old keystrokes file since the first day I entered and I never have a problem with it.

                                    As suggested by the manual…

 4.32 key files can be used, but if you do so you will have to manually add in/change the new 4.33 callbacks. It is therefore strongly advised to start with a new 4.33 key file and customise it as desired.

                                      Ok, I’ve “finished” my testings.
I tested with the first release of 4.33 and with the new with all updates…

My Monitor can handle 100 Hz and so I now select in the sim setup.
Graphics managment is now by NVidia with highest performance and VSync as on…

Config: No HDR, HighRes, Triple Buffer off, rest as default
Weather settings: 35% clouds only lightly shattered, fair conditions

                                      Outside: up to 100 FPS
                                      Inside: ~70 FPS

                                      IIRC with my i5-3450, GTX-960 I could only handle 20% clouds w/o stutter…

So, yes, its ok with space, now I need again a Warthog and head tracking…

Thanks for helping, pointing and your interest.
                                      Best regards

                                          Yes, thank you, I’m too.
Never had this before, that it needs to enable VSync to get *normal’ FPS.
I’ve also already asked at PC-Monitors, their meaning is, that it is GPU / software related…
