Alt Tab = FPS Problems? Mouse Solution?
-
Having just come back to Falcon after a 10 year layoff, I’m doing all of the training missions. I have two monitors, one of which has Falcon running in a window (found that solution here as well!), the other of which has the BMS manual/training mission manual and keyboard map pdf up. I have noticed that it seems that my FPS over time goes to crap the more I alt-tab back and forth between the game and the manuals. Is this something normal? Once I reboot the game, FPS is back where it should be.
Second, is there anything else I can do other than cntl-alt-del and then cancel to solve the double mouse issue that crops up after an alt-tab? Thanks in advance.

ALT TAB is not recommended. Sometime it even crash.

I haven’t had any crashes. Not alt-tabbing isn’t really an option as I have to be able to read as I do in order to learn lol.

… “when I was young”, ALT TAB wasn’t possible at all, so I was reading first, then I was jumping in the jet after.
Nowadays, some ppl do also have smart phone or tablet PC.
Good luck with ALT TABing … probably not really practical. (?)

…
I remember playing Falcon on my Amiga computer and the sheer joy and amazement I had when Falcon 4.0 was released. It was SOOOO far ahead of its time! I played for years, but have not played in probably 10 years. I am now re-learning what is really an almost new game, reading and going through manuals a little bit each night. When they call this a “study sim,” they really mean it! I’m a 52 year old flight sim/space sim fan and hope to one day, learn enough to join an online squadron and do some multi-player, something I never had the chance to do years ago. Salute!
As I see, you too!

I am sorry … no idea how to solve your issue.
