Thanks to some of you guys, I got my FS/PT combo working and have been diligently checking all my buttons. The only issue I’ve discovered so far is that buttons 51/55 that are mapped to the throttle POV for MAN RANGE knob - down/up don’t appear to be working. When I test in BMS setup, they are correctly mapped, but in game, they don’t do anything. Yes, I am in either AA/MSL/DF first and I’m not in ACM mode. I can work around it by using the mouse hat on the PT, but wondered if I’m doing something wrong? Thanks!

EDIT: FWIW, it doesn’t work in AGR mode either. Guessing that enabling the mouse pointer may override it or something?

Probably you are expecting the knob to manually change the range. ??

That is not it’s function. Check the -1 or standby for a better explanation from others.

MAN RNG = When in air-to-air gun modes and radar ranging is not available, the MAN RNG knob is used to select one of two manual ranges. Manual range is set to 1500 feet if the knob is rotated clockwise of center and 700 feet if the knob is rotated counter-clockwise of center. The selected value is displayed digitally on the HUD. The target is at the selected range when (1) the correct wingspan has been entered via the DED and (2) the pilot closes until the wings of the target just fill the inside of the manual ranging reticle if using LCOS, or just fit inside the funnel when using EEGS.

Radar Gain = In electromagnetics, an antenna’s power gain or simply gain is a key performance number which combines the antenna’s directivity and electrical efficiency. In a transmitting antenna, the gain describes how well the antenna converts input power into radio waves headed in a specified direction. In a receiving antenna, the gain describes how well the antenna converts radio waves arriving from a specified direction into electrical power. When no direction is specified, “gain” is understood to refer to the peak value of the gain, the gain in the direction of the antenna’s main lobe. A plot of the gain as a function of direction is called the radiation pattern.

I hope those are right 🙂

man range knob adjusts zoom on the TGP, and “gain” (not really) on the GM radar display. dont know about LCOS, havent used it. Dont think Ive used manual ranging on EEGS either.

Thanks Blu3wolf. You have no idea how much my eyes have been bleeding reading manuals and trolling this site and others in my quest for answers.
