BMS hangs in x64 fine in x32
-
Weird, I also have Win 10 Home (On my laptop) and 64-bit runs fine there without any issues and without setting any compatibility modes.
me too.

After checking, i can confirm that BMS must be in capability mode or not even x32 will run. It will just freeze before leaving the UI and going into the game. I guess i could try this, uninstall then install the base game without any updates a test it, if it works install the U2 update and so on until it stops working. Also i could try 4.32 if its still avaialble and has x32 and x64?
Another option is to reinstall directx. What do you think? -
With given info and no specific solution or guidance, start testing one by one.
First a clean install would be what I would do.
Just in case use stock folders.
R u on a non English version of Windows?
Any force feedback input devices connected?Στάλθηκε από το MI 5 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk

Arty, yes the English ver of Windows 10 and i updated it with the latest update this morning. No force feedback devices.
Im at a loss as to why i have to run BMS in cabability mode and you guys dont. That has to be a clue to the problem. Does it matter if BMS is not installed on the drive where Windows is installed? Could it be an issue with Falcon 4? -
Well as reported and verified by the Devs it shouldn’t be an issue to have it installed on a different drive or folder. But, as a habit of mine I always use the root
folder. So I don’t worry about it at all. There must be a driver installed that is engaged by BMS and fubars things up.
Sound driver? I believe it must use the windows one. Maybe find which device-chip it is and download and install the driver from the manufacturer page.Have u set on power settings the plan for maximum performance?
Also on VGA driver settings set it to high performance?
On final windows update there were reported issues, sorry can’t recall the solution or exact setup, but u can search it here in the forum. It’s recent.

It’s more likely to be an issue with Windows 10 it would seem, if you’re confident you’ve ruled out drivers.
What is your install path? I’ve seen issues posted by people with long install paths inside several nested folders, so it would be useful to rule that out. If you are going to do a clean install it might be worth the extra 3-4 minutes to install in the default directory on your C drive first, just to confirm if that is the issue. Don’t forget to use Setup.exe to uninstall the software, to make sure the registry entries are removed, before reinstalling.

Check driver of your Joystick and/or delete latest version of it.
Cheers

Darkman, you are right
This morning windows 10 downloaded and installed a major update, took something like 30 mins to install. When it finished, just for laughs i thought i would try BMS in x64, guess what? IT WORKED i can actually run BMS in x64 now. I had to close BMS to make sure it wasnt in x32, it wasnt, it was in x64. I almost fell over when i saw it working.I would like to say a big thanks to everyone who contributed to this post. Thanks guys, and hopefully see you in the air!
