Some ITO Fun

Short 3min video of some action in ITO (Day 1, zero hour of the campaign going for the MIG-25/Su-24 base in the far Northeast, and the Northeast Air Defense HQ next to it). ITO’s campaign is a blast. Action packed.

Awesome radio comms guys ! What i do like the most is that you guys got to te point where your radio comms sound natural and all the brevety and aeronautical language comes natural and fluid. Aways a pleasure and a learning experience with your videos.

Is that a high res version of a cockpit? just seems very clear.
Good vid and good flying!

Thanks, and no, it’s stock 4.32 and stock ITO v991 cockpit (except we added block 50s and a KC-10 to the campaign). If the cockpit looks different it is only because of the TrackIR field of view/zoom trick I do which makes me zoomed in, the HUD symbology smaller inside the HUD glass, and everything more crisp (i.e. MFD fonts aren’t blurry). I’m also sitting a bit high because I like how it makes the pit look more 3D (personal preference). The only negative is that when I look over my shoulder I look really far away from the seat but it’s worth it for me. The trick is to lean back as far as you can in your chair, center your Track IR, and then zoom your FOV all the way out (the mouse wheel if you don’t have it mapped to your stick). Then sit in your normal position. If you haven’t done it before you might have to do it again until you get it to the right spot, but for me, I just do it once when I get in the pit and I never have to do it again for the rest of the flight.
For the video… My hardware is a NVidia GTX 580. I record it full size in FRAPs at 1920x1080. Then I render it in Sony Vegas using the default settings for MP4 and the setting “Internet Video 1080”. I find that MP4 keeps the colors better (a little darker) than wmv. I don’t use any of the suggested settings from youtube and I use the output from FRAPs without using a program to make the files smaller.

Hi Demo, how can I make HUD symbology smaller inside HUD?

You can’t. It is just an optical effect when you are close to the HUD (TrackIR point of view) … in other words, when you advance your torso to put your virtual nose closer to the HUD.
