Creating new squadron pilot names
-
Hi,
For a mod I want to update all my pilot names, with better names for all different teams/countries.
How could I best go about this? I have seen in MC that you can import/export and also complete squadron pilots can be picked randomly from the complete list of pilots.
But how do I set it up so different teams pick the correct pilot names for a specific country without doing every single pilot manually?Cheers Obi1

Hey Obi,
First Export the pilot list. The import/Export function you have already found in the Pilots tab.
In this export File you can change the names as you like.
When you Import the file again, the pilots names are updated.Do note that the Pilot names are actually stored in the Strings.idx/wch. Have a look at the Strings tab to see.
You can also edit the names at that location.Which team actually uses which names is set in the Teams tab -> Info. Look for the 1st Colonel, 1st Cmdr, 1st Wingman and Last Wingman.

Well it looks like there are ranges of every 100th names. Maybe it’s per country, so team 1 -> 0-100 , team2 ->101-200
Maybe it works somehow this way, have to dig deeper. -
Yep, each country has a set of 100 names.
In the Team tab you set which set is used for which country.
The rest of the assignment are done automatically and being tracked how much each pilot is used.If you want to set a specific name for a flight, you can change the pilot in the Flight window.
However, this can change if you occupy a seat.Btw, you can NOT set a group of names for a specific Squadron.

Thanks Falcas, this export to file and then import will be a great way to update the names.
Already was planning to try that, thanks for explaining how it works. Also I am not quite sure if the pilot values in te_new are same as in save0 etc? Have seen that no pictures etc are assigned in te_new, but in save0 I can see much more filled in.
Will check if it’s same in Stock KTO.Lastly I was wondering if this pilot import export also works on different versions of falcon. Could I export from 4.33 and import into 4.35 for example?
Cheers Obi1

Yes, that should work.
