Athos Mountain Greece

This is free for all to use them as you like.
I created them first back in the days of Aegean theater v2.1.1 for e-HAF. Please don’t confuse it with current Aegean theater, this was a closed modification and release just for e-HAF.
They date from 2018 so it’s s new, and was recreated for IKAROS theater but never used.
Inside the 7z file there are all the source and final files 3dsmax LOD dds cdr and txt with info how to install in Falcon.
Import is not working for LOD1. The file is enormus for LodEditor to handle bur shows and works ok in Falcon and Falcon Editor.
So to overcome this import Lod2 twice once as for the LOD1 and once more for the LOD2.
then replace the lod1 record with Athos1_LOD1.LODCreate and place an objective where the mountain must be and not far as it will not show up.
You must mix it with your current or new tiles.
There is no need to ask for my permission nor any credits mention or anything like that.

Hey Arty, what is the DEM resolution of the mountain? I mean the resolution you used to create the model.
-
Oh it’s long time ago and I don’t recall, also I did a stupid thing, gone for vacations this week and forgot my laptop at home.
I’ll try and connect at my home PC and look in to it.
I didn’t used DEM I got the height map from unity or City engine… Will have to look in to it and let you know. Then in 3ds max set max height to the real one.
I think the last must have been from CE.Στάλθηκε από το MI 5 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk

hmmm managed to find the info.
The terrain area I downloaded was 10x10km’s
the heightmap resolution for that area is 4096x4096 pixels.
I believe that answers your question.
In the 3d max file provided you can see the settings I used for the plane and the displace. It’s 600 segments for the plane for LOD1, killer tris 720k.
LOD2 142k tris.
LOD3 15k tris. For the LODS I was playing with the segments selections in the plane in LOD1 file.
for lod3 it must be 100 segments on the plane object. -
Ha I see, so that would be ~2.5 meter resolution
Nice, although that’s too high resolution for practical purposes (e.g for sampling a Heightmap).
But anyway, was just curious, thanx!
