Seagulls over Garbage areas
-
This was a shock for me when I first visited the insides of a fighting wing in Greece ans saw a map with Red circles.
I was mostly puzzled as one was near my home area, and couldn’t find the pattern or what they represent.
The pilot explained to me that they are flock of gulls over open space garbage areas in Greece that they have to avoid during low level flights.
Something like that:
So I thought to create something familiar.
my texturing is awful in this model but I believe it works ok.This is free for all to use them as you like.
There is no need to ask for my permission nor any credits mention or anything like that.Download link:

Thanks Arty, that’s a very cool idea! As an avid hobby ornithologist (it seems like I simply love all things flying :)), this is something very cool to have. Just wondering if these could be animated like the flocks of geese we have in rfactor2 at some circuits?
All the best, Uwe

Well with the knowledge I have on the falcon scripts I don’t think this can be done in a natural way.
I came up with this idea to keep it low poly and I have some torus clockwise and some counterclockwise and in diagonal to give the feeling of the furbal they create.
If u go each bird separate u can have the script on each wing turn and place them diagonal to the bird body and rotate like a human would rotate his extended arms, but would look unnatural and the poly count would skyrocket. There would be what 500+ birds? With 100+ poly each would end to 50.000 polys with transparency and animation script. I believe it would have a considerable fps hit.Στάλθηκε από το MI 5 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk

Please replace with Sharks !!! We need BMS sharknado edition

Thanks, Arty!
My cats will love this.
With best regards,

Really cool idea, it would make ports also more lively, with a bit less seagulls in the animation for this.
Cheers Obi1

This can be done easily. Just reduce the birds in the texture. Iirc they don’t overlap.
